this should all blow over in a day or two.
It's not going to blow over until Dec 1st apparently....Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

grasping at straws? ridiculous? desperate? sad? sour grapes? you obama supporters are sure fuckin sensitive, huh?
If it's as cut and dry as you think it is, why the venom and wasted energy defending it?
People are asking questions. I don't think ANYONE wants this to be true, and very very few would like to see the Rep stay in office b/c of something like this (or whateverthehell would happen if it was true).
You guys are making it sound like this thread is being pushed by McCain people, which is obviously not the case.0

"We beg to differ. FactCheck.org staffers have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate. "
Well it does seem to be accessible to some people to touch and fondle. Now someone else wants to touch and fondle it.
They should televise the proceedings. "Ladies and gentlemen, we now present you..... exhibit A) The ever elusive, and most mysterious, GÖldën Égg".
 Ooooo...Ahhhhh...

I think that Obama was born in outer space. He's from another galaxy. Does that make him ineligible?0
-
I know he is most likely a citizen but hell it would be pretty funny if he wasn't. Everything would crumble, our Markets would implode. I mean, I would have to laugh a little bit before the gravity of it hit me.
Now lets say he is an Illegal(just doing jobs Americans don't want) do we deport him to Kenya? Whats the deal? Also, who would the Presidecny fall on? Would it be McCain?Thats a lovely accent you have. New Jersey?

 What people are asking questions?
If by "people" you mean, tin-foil hat wearing, living-in-denial nut jobs, then I guess we ought to let "people" keep on asking questions even though the facts appear to the contrary.0

i just find it difficult to believe that if this were true why the republicans wouldnt got ahold of it. perhaps they, with their silence also believe it to be too ridiculous a notion to address.hear my name

first, was his mother not a US citizen at the time of his birth? because if she was, then he is a US citizen no matter what spot on the earth he happened to be born on.
second, I don't believe any of this. if it were true, it would be on all the major news networks.
 it's typical nonsense from Roland.0

This makes me think of Colbert on the night of the election. When he and Jon Stewart were sitting behind the desk waiting for 11:00 e.t. to call it, Colbert said, wait wait, there is still a chance for McCain. He only needs five supreme court members to vote in his favor.0

That is the law today. However, it was different at the time Barry was born. I believe if someone was born outside of the US in 1961 to one US citizen parent, they would qualify for citizenship "if" the parent had lived at least 5 years in the US after the age of 16. Since Barry's mother was only 18 at the time of his birth, he would not qualify.0

 "For Immediate Release: - 11/07/08
 U. S. SUPREME COURT AWAITS RESPONSE TO
 BERG'S WRIT OF CERTIORARI
 FROM OBAMA, DNC and Co-DEFENDANTS
(Contact information and PDF at end)
(Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania – 11/07/08) - Philip J. Berg, Esquire, the Attorney who filed suit against Barack H. Obama challenging Senator Obama’s lack of “qualifications” to serve as President of the United States filed a Writ of Certiorari in the United States Supreme Court on October 30, 2008, requesting review of the United States District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Judge Surrick’s Dismissal of Philip J. Berg’s lawsuit against Barack H. Obama, Jr., the DNC and the other co-Defendants. Accordingly, the U. S. Supreme Court has set dates in which Barack Obama, the DNC and all co-Defendants are to respond to the Writ, which is on or before December 1, 2008.
Mr. Berg remarked today, “I look forward to receiving Defendant Obama's response to the Writ and am hopeful the U. S. Supreme Court will review Berg v. Obama. I believe Mr. Obama is not a constitutionally-qualified natural-born citizen and is ineligible to assume the office of President of the United States.”
Mr. Berg’s case, Berg vs. Obama was dismissed from the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Docket # 08-cv-4083 for lack of standing. Mr. Berg filed a Writ of Certiorari for review of the case and an injunction to stay the election pending review. Justice Souter denied the injunction. It is expected that the Court will decide whether or not to review Berg v. Obama after the Defendants file their response, and Mr. Berg has replied to the Defendant’s response.
The Defendants' response is due by December 1st and Mr. Berg's reply will be submitted thereafter.

All Congress would need to do then is write a new law that retroactively grants citizenship to all children of U.S. citizens born here or abroad. Think it would pass?unsung wrote:That is the law today. However, it was different at the time Barry was born.
