I know he is most likely a citizen but hell it would be pretty funny if he wasn't. Everything would crumble, our Markets would implode. I mean, I would have to laugh a little bit before the gravity of it hit me.

Now lets say he is an Illegal(just doing jobs Americans don't want) do we deport him to Kenya? Whats the deal? Also, who would the Presidecny fall on? Would it be McCain?
Thats a lovely accent you have. New Jersey?

  • grasping at straws? ridiculous? desperate? sad? sour grapes? you obama supporters are sure fuckin sensitive, huh?
If it's as cut and dry as you think it is, why the venom and wasted energy defending it?

People are asking questions. I don't think ANYONE wants this to be true, and very very few would like to see the Rep stay in office b/c of something like this (or whateverthehell would happen if it was true).
You guys are making it sound like this thread is being pushed by McCain people, which is obviously not the case.

    What people are asking questions?

If by "people" you mean, tin-foil hat wearing, living-in-denial nut jobs, then I guess we ought to let "people" keep on asking questions even though the facts appear to the contrary.

i just find it difficult to believe that if this were true why the republicans wouldnt got ahold of it. perhaps they, with their silence also believe it to be too ridiculous a notion to address.

first, was his mother not a US citizen at the time of his birth? because if she was, then he is a US citizen no matter what spot on the earth he happened to be born on.

second, I don't believe any of this. if it were true, it would be on all the major news networks.

    it's typical nonsense from Roland.

  • This makes me think of Colbert on the night of the election. When he and Jon Stewart were sitting behind the desk waiting for 11:00 e.t. to call it, Colbert said, wait wait, there is still a chance for McCain. He only needs five supreme court members to vote in his favor.

That is the law today. However, it was different at the time Barry was born. I believe if someone was born outside of the US in 1961 to one US citizen parent, they would qualify for citizenship "if" the parent had lived at least 5 years in the US after the age of 16. Since Barry's mother was only 18 at the time of his birth, he would not qualify.

    "For Immediate Release: - 11/07/08
    U. S. SUPREME COURT AWAITS RESPONSE TO
    BERG'S WRIT OF CERTIORARI
    FROM OBAMA, DNC and Co-DEFENDANTS

(Contact information and PDF at end)

(Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania – 11/07/08) - Philip J. Berg, Esquire, the Attorney who filed suit against Barack H. Obama challenging Senator Obama’s lack of “qualifications” to serve as President of the United States filed a Writ of Certiorari in the United States Supreme Court on October 30, 2008, requesting review of the United States District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Judge Surrick’s Dismissal of Philip J. Berg’s lawsuit against Barack H. Obama, Jr., the DNC and the other co-Defendants. Accordingly, the U. S. Supreme Court has set dates in which Barack Obama, the DNC and all co-Defendants are to respond to the Writ, which is on or before December 1, 2008.

Mr. Berg remarked today, “I look forward to receiving Defendant Obama's response to the Writ and am hopeful the U. S. Supreme Court will review Berg v. Obama. I believe Mr. Obama is not a constitutionally-qualified natural-born citizen and is ineligible to assume the office of President of the United States.”

Mr. Berg’s case, Berg vs. Obama was dismissed from the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Docket # 08-cv-4083 for lack of standing. Mr. Berg filed a Writ of Certiorari for review of the case and an injunction to stay the election pending review. Justice Souter denied the injunction. It is expected that the Court will decide whether or not to review Berg v. Obama after the Defendants file their response, and Mr. Berg has replied to the Defendant’s response.

The Defendants' response is due by December 1st and Mr. Berg's reply will be submitted thereafter.

Seriously, why would he go through the whole damn process for over 2 years if he knew he couldn't win. He would be the biggest idiot ever if he thought he could just win then drop this on us. I mean use logic here.

    EXACTLY.

All Congress would need to do then is write a new law that retroactively grants citizenship to all children of U.S. citizens born here or abroad. Think it would pass?

See what I mean? Dude…are you gonna be ok? I mean fuck….even Canadians are freaking out in his defence? Who cares? That’s what I’m saying….if it’s bullshit, why are you guys getting so upset?

You sling a bunch o' mud while leaving yourself an out if you're wrong ("appear to the contrary"). gawdamn I'm sick of the tinfoil hat comment...get some new material. a-w-a-r-e-n-e-s-s...is it a bad thing? No one is pushing this down your throat, it's information.

I’m not saying anything about the validity of this guys’ claim. I’m commenting on how many people here are frothing at the mouth over anything that may portray their fearless leader in a negative light. I agree that the GOP would be all over this if they thought it was valid (unless of course it’s all a conspiracy that they’re in on, waiting for the other shoe to drop before getting involved…maybe they do support it, but don’t want to play the heavy? :p )

There are a lot of things happening that are considered or should be considered major issues, yet get little or no coverage.

I don't divide information or events etc. into "major issues" and " minor issues" based on what I see on TV.

Because he's not the one really doing everything. He's a puppet for the Democratic party. They all wanted him to win sooo bad because they realized that he had charisma and he was black. He was the perfect candidate.

Don't believe me? Look who he's nominating for his cabinet.

Were still riding the cusp of the story. If it's still deadlocked with team Obamatron after Dec 1st, a few of the smaller outlets might pick it up.

I think he has a birth certificate. I don't see how this is the right grasping at straws or anything. A guy filed a law suit and due to Obama's negligence things got ' worse'. Eventually he'll probably produce his birth certificate, problem solved, but we won't know why he didn't nip this in the bud.

And that's a good point to focus on. If he has nothing to hide, why hide? If he has a valid birth certificate from Hawaii, then I have no problem. Issue resolved. But as of now this is a concern for me.

C'mon guys, if McCain had won the election and something like this came up you'd say that McCain sabotaged the election, just how you think Bush did in 2000. That's exactly how I feel about Obama right now. The Constitution is the Constitution, whether you like it or not.

Jesus H. Christ. You two are a joke. Get off your high horse. No one is blowing a gasket. If you post stuff with no basis in fact other than internet rumor, on a music fansite, you should probably be prepared for people to oppose your opinion or at a minimum actually, you know, discuss it. Hard to believe I know. That's kind of the point, isn't it? Sheesh. Lighten up Frances. Otherwise, you might need to put on your big boy panties and suck it up. We are discussing it because we (a majority of the sane) don't see the conspiracy theory but rather see people who are living in a world of conspiracy theory and illusion. That would be "you".

I'm pretty sure that if Obama were a non-American citizen, anti-christ, muslim, baby eater, we would all know about it by now. Or do you think the CIA "forgot" to check his background before they gave him security clearance for briefings as President-elect?

Also, tell me where I said that I see a conspiracy (aside from the joke with the :p after it)

AGAIN....I'm commenting ONLY on how fervently Obama's supporters are backing him on everything....it scares me.

From the FactCheck site another poster provided & one of the 'issues':

*The document is a "certification of birth," not a "certificate of birth."*

I just looked at my daughter's 'birth certificate' that I had mailed to me (we moved to a different state when she was 4 months) and it is a 'certification of vital record' from the state of Colorado. A certification of birth or certification of vital record is the short form. I'm not sure what the problem is here.........Is there something I need to get in order in case my 4 year decides to run for the highest office in the country years from now? I mean, she does have a Hispanic/Spanish last name and all................

Look, I can totally appreciate debating and taking issue with Obama's stances on the issues and how he intends to run the country once he takes office, but this issue? Am I missing something here?
