The threat title should read "...for you and me." I is a subject, not an object.

Also, you will get some flak for this, not "slack." Flak means strong, clamorous opposition or criticism. Slack means something flacid or lacking in tightness.

That said, I disagree.

Not really part of this thread, but good on ya for pointing that out. Too often people think that it never happened. I know that the Irish have legitimate grievances in regards to England, but let's not pretend that innocent civilians weren't bombed.

I have said it many times the title for this post was a poor VERY poor choice. I regret making that the title. If I could change it so it appeared on the porch main differently I would but I tried several times and it keeps the original. Is there a way to change the title so that the new one appears at the main porch page?

(no matter how small the contribution) The armed forces of today rely on future personnel to relieve them in time of war and relief, learn new things and ways to aid them in future conflicts, and to make them more stronger and safer in the numbers ect. Low recruiting numbers effect the troops of today in a very negative way and it angers me Ed contributes to that. Its like we should all thank him for the marine recruiter removal because we all agree with what Eddie thinks. Are there really that many puppets at the shows that Eddie can assume we all wanted the removal? If he felt that bad about a recruiter being there, fine, have them removed for the 2nd show, but dont announce it and assume we all think your a hero for doing so. I think Ed needs to lay off the bottles of wine and watch what he says at shows. It may come back to him some day. I applaud and respect the men and women who want to join the armed forces. I hope the keep doing it, in great numbers. They are the only reason our country safe with leaders like this.

Once again, if you disagree with Ed, sit at home with your CDs or fuck off and listen to another band.

At live shows, Ed wants his fans to drink beer (if they choose), check out the music, and have a good time. If those same fans want to sign up for the military and die on foreign soil to make money for our corrupt government, they can find a recruiting office the following day.

By setting up recruitment stands at rock concerts, the military are exposing themselves as exploitative and desperate assholes.

So the title is a poor choice, I agree.
But actually it's fun to read this. There's something in it for everyone. We started out with a comment about the marines and now we're somewhere inbetween American history and WWII. Maybe someone want's to throw in a comment about the current gas prices?

I do disagree with your title and your comment and even though I am not American I believe I have the right to say so. How come you think that America is the only country that has freedom of speech? It's not the military that has to protect our rights, we have to do this ourselves. And this includes using our brains not weapons. Usually one wouldn't say that you learn to make up your own mind and think outside the box when joining the military.

You wrote that the marines are needed for other cases too, like earthquakes, hurricanes etc. I believe people shouldn't be forced to help those in need because they joined a certain group or chose a certain career. This should come from within and when an earthquake hits your home you should get up and help your neighbour because you feel you have to, not because you're a marine!

Also, I think it's Ed's right to comment this way. PJ don't own the venue but when people go to their concerts they will connect everything to the band. PJ don't sell the beer but if it's poor, you won't say oh, the stand at that venue sold lousy beer, you say the beer at the PJ concert sucked.
