The U.S. Government, the Insurance companies, the Banks and Financial institutions, the gas/fuel/oil companies, the pharmaceutical companies, the corporate farming/"food" companies...........

Are all enemies of the the people of the United States.

Keep us sick, keep us in debt, keep us drugged up, keep us fat, lazy and stupid.

Keep us arguing over partisan bullshit loyalties (when in fact they are all the same douche bags).

    What clever distractions.

Keep us scared, keep us pre-occupied and involved in religious......faith-based fiction.

His religion is threatened, her religion is threatened, their religion is threatened, your religion is threatened, you're religion, you are threatened; now go fight and argue about it. Now go kill for it. What clever distractions.

My religion is the true religion. No, mine is. You're both wrong, mine is the only true god and religion.

Oh my.....is this what they call Faith?

Faith: Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence. Belief without evidence. Confident belief in the truth of a person, idea, or thing. This belief is not based on logical proof.

Oh but to insist, or impose by force one's religion to be the correct god and religion, betrays the very essence of the definiton of faith. Oh my.

    What a delicious distraction.

Here, eat this crap we manufactored for you. Trust us, it's good. Sit, please sit.....watch your TV. We'll tell you what to think. We'll tell you the truth. We swear, no pinkie cross. Watch Oprah, she really cares, Watch Dr. Phil, he cares, too. More reality TV, why certainly. We're not quite sure who's reality this is, but I believe it was the same writer who got fired from the Roseanne show....by Roseanne.

You want medical insurance? Sure, that'll be $15,000.00 a year for you and your family. But if you've ever sneezed just once in your life, we will consider that " a pre-existing condition" and we won't permit or cover for you to be treated and cured anywhere in the United States, by any physician. We'll need the whole $150,000 up front, to remove your appendix. A doctor's got to eat. Or is that "an Insurance/HMO CEO needs another, gold and chrome-plated bigger yact"? I always forget that one.

People die, so they can buy, buy, buy.

Keep us desperate. Keep us dumb. Keep us passive. Keep us numb. Keep us distracted. Their hands never left their wrists.

    Now I must quote Jim.

" What have they done to the earth?
What have they done to our fair sister?
Ravaged and plundered and ripped her and bit her
Stuck her with knives in the side of the dawn
And tied her with fences and dragged her down

Talk about liberties being stripped away.

I shudder to think about it.

can I buy some pot from you, that must be some great shit.

what do you base this opinion on?

democrats are responsible for seat belts, womens sufferage (the right to vote) minimum wage hikes, attempts at universal health care and that's a short list. Carter created the fisa court to strengthen the 4th amendnment.

with the exception of ron paul, a vote for a republican in 2008 is a vote for more money for the rich, less rights and more war.

Yeah - Republicans GIVE money to the rich.

I'm basing my opinion on the fact that anytime taxes are increased, people lose freedom. It's a simple concept, but one that's hardly mentioned.

    More taxes = less freedom

    are you insane?

so tell me, how do you pay for a war, give out tax breaks (mainly to the wealthiest) and keep bridges intact and take care of matters of emergency such as Katrina?

I mean besides mortgaging our country to the Chinese.

to pay for stuff you have to collect revenue.

    now there's a simple concept

ironically... Katrina was mishandled, New Orleans didn't get the support it needed. Your bridges are falling apart, but hey at least you have billions of dollars to fight a war.

I agree that you need taxes, as you said revenue to pay for stuff, but really where are the priorities in your country.

I agree with the statement that more taxes = less freedom, with the context of what they are being spent on.

We cut programs - including ending the war - and either keep taxes the same or lower them.

I've never said we could eliminate all taxes. But I oppose all new taxes at this point. Government needs to trim the fat and not continually look for handouts.

And yes - I firmly believe that higher taxes = less freedom.

good luck in your run for...oh yeah, you'd never get elected telling the truth.

I don't get how that translates but if it makes sense to you more power to you. I believe it does mean less money.

    i agree...

especially with the ever blurring lines between corporation/government with lobbying and bouncing back between gov't and corporate jobs... peddling influence to the highest bidder

depends on who we are talking about taxing here...

the tax system is designed to exploit the average masses, while benefitting the wealthy. even before bush's insane tax cut's

do you agree with that? if nont, why so?

It feels like it's going to snow here. We went from 90's to 40's almost overnight.

Since the tax rate is so much higher on the wealthy, I do not see how it is designed to benefit them.

Any links to business tax or indeed how corps avoid paying it?
Keep on rockin in the free world!!!!

The economy has polarized to the point where the wealthiest 10% now own 85% of the nation’s wealth. Never before have the bottom 90% been so highly indebted, so dependent on the wealthy.

There probably are, but we're not talking about businesses and corporations here. We're talking about individuals.

Well do the wealthy not have other ways of tax avoidence? They certainly do here.

If you run your own buisness you can pay yourself a small salary and get the rest payed in other ways, and buisness tax is cheaper.

But maybe that is different there.

Everyone has ways of tax avoidance - that's not exclusive to the wealthy.

But, the fact remains that the wealthy pay the highest percentage of taxes and therefore it is laughable to say that the tax system "benefits the wealthy".

exactly. spiral, did you have some sort of point you are trying to make?

the more money you make (the wealthy) the more you get taxed.

its almost not even worth it to make over $350,000 a year. why work so hard just to give it all back.

Ya ? Take tax law and you'll never utter those words again. Merely looking at the income tax tables to arrive at your deductions is foolhardy. Fuck the greedy pigs who want more money than they can realistically use. Personally, I got no problem stealin' bread from the mouths of decadence. And if that means doing so through taxes, then so be it. There's more to life and society than the single individual. Thats part of the reason why the U.S. is so off the rails.

socialism takes away freedom. sorry, some of us enjoy it.
