    my stance:

it's not the wild wild west anymore. why do people feel the need to own guns in this day and age?

well maybe we all need guns to defend ourselves against psychos. I don't like guns but it'll equal the playing ground if you have one and someone decides to go on a shooting spree.
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.

LAWS are a lot different than fucking with the constitution...you want to be like bush??

Would you care to read this post by hippiemom (in another thread).. it might enlighten you...

"On second thought, I'm not going to wait for you to explain Article V. You can't, because you clearly don't understand it. So how about you try to wrap your genius brain around this:

The Bill of Rights consists of the first ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution. They thus became a part of the Constitution itself, as did all subsequent amendments. The process for amending any part of the Constitution is laid out in Article V. There are two ways that it can be done.

    1. Both houses of Congress approve, by a 2/3 majority, a resolution calling for an amendment. The proposed amendment must then be approved by the legislatures of 3/4 of the states.

    2. Alternatively, the legislatures of 3/4 of the states vote to call for a convention at which constitutional amendments can be proposed. Any amendments proposed by the convention would then require approval by the legislatures of 3/4 of the states.

Now you explain to me why it is that you think the first ten amendments are somehow immune to this process."

I also seem to remember a Simpsons episode about how these things work... it was perfectly clear to my little daughter at the time... maybe it would be for you too.

    I haven't...

guns are for killing, right...? what do you use yours for...brushing your teeth, a salt shaker, to put that extra bulge in your pants....?

please, tell us about some of the "other things"...

protection against rattlesnakes; mountain lions; coyotes; tweekers that come to areas without police protection to kill and rob for money to buy meth. and generally uphold the law in areas where government does not provide protection.
come spend some time on the open range in the vast wilderness areas or work a ranch here and you won't be making such iggnorant comments.

sorry, just got a little frustrated....believe me, i would impose SERIOUS requirements for purchasing guns....the way they have it now, anyone can get a gun..at least where i live

fair enough, my friend...we all get a little pissed off every now and then...

and see, we agree...I think people should have to jump through hoops of fire to get a gun...perhaps a license procedure...perhaps even mental health checks (I know, a little extreme)...

I just think we need to treat guns more seriously...that's all...:)

people should be able to buy a gun if they have a license for its use, can only buy it from a controlled outlet, have somewhere safe to store it, know how to use it, are not allowed to conceal it in public.

just make it difficult to get them. if someones going to flip out they shouldn't just be able to walk down the highstreet and pick one up. THAT IS NUTS. sure a hunter/sports shooter could flip out too but it they don't seem to do so too often.

    don't assume...:)

listen...all I'm saying is this: make it very very very very very very hard to obtain a gun...when caught with an illegal gun...have very very very very very strong consequences...

    is that bad...?
