  • You all need to expand your horizons. There are jazz/funk drummers that will blow all the rock guys out of the water. Dennis Chambers, David Garibaldi, Steve Gadd, etc

Lars Ulrich is the SINGLE MOST overrated drummer in music.

my top three would probably be

    1) Jimmy Chamberlain
    2) Matt Cameron
    3) Joey Castillo (mainly because he is insane to watch)
Hello, I love you. Won't you tell me your name?

Have we lost our hope to sorrow?

  • Babatunde Olatunji That guy could get your heart going like no other!

I was in Mali Africa a couple of years ago and there were some hand drummers who would just be playing in villages that we'll never hear but would blow me away.

    Also among others:
    Bill Bruford
    Terry Bozzio
    Buddy Rich
Pat Masteletto - I saw him playing in 7 with one foot, 4 with the other, 5 with one hand and 9 with the other all at the same time with King Crimson one night. Almost scary if you ask me!

No one should disagree with that. Some great drumming on Nirvana's albums and Song For The Deaf. And I knew he was good, but TCV made him great, imo.

Say what you want about DMB, but Carter Beauford is one INCREDIBLE animal of a drummer. He has a massive drumkit which he completely owns, and is just amazingly good at what he does! Probably my favorite modern drummer. Of all time? Keith Moon. Honorable mentions to John Bonham and Dave Grohl.
