Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

Serpentine - Ani Difranco
In the Arms of Sleep - Smashing PumpkinsIf you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.
Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.

Speaking of the Pumpkins, Stumbeline has to be one of the saddest songs ever. The Man has a branch office in each of our brains, his corporate emblem is a white albatross, each local rep has a cover known as the Ego, and their mission in this world is Bad Shit.0 -

Nutshell by Alice in Chains. I defy anyone to watch that tribute video online with nutshell playing in the background the whole way through and not get a lump in their throat. Just try it I dare ya..."I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0

Hallelujah-Buckley
PBM"We paced ourselves and we didn't rush through it and we tried to be as creative as our collective minds would let us be over some course of time instead of just trying to rush through a record"

Wow great to see someone nominate this song so soon in the sad songs thread. This song is one of the greatest of all time from one of my favourite artists of all time. Lightfoot has other great, sad songs such as 1972s "Ode To Big Blue" a song about a whale. I don't know why the public has largely forgotten Lightfoot he is one of the greatest and yet all I ever hear discussed is Neil Young and Dylan.0
