    Seldom has anyone been more wrong ever! While I like the Studio 54 dance version it cannot even approach the heart-wrenching genius of the original. My God your comment is offensive, cheesey and wholly inappropriate!

    i dunno about sad, but the Modest Mouse song "Broke" is incredibly depressing. So is the Steelpole Bathtub song "Friday".

    Yeah, I guess it has that bittersweet quality for me, doesn't stop me listening to it though, love that song.

    I remember hearing a performance (I think it was Letterman) when Shannon sang this line:

    "And when your deepest thoughts are broken,

    That kind of makes me sad.
