Chis Cornell should just be removed from the entire era because of his recent garbage.

    good logic.

Let's just get rid of Ed because of Avocado while we're at it.

Ouch...I think Avocado is the weakest PJ record, but have you heard the shit that Cornell has just put out?? It makes Creed albums seem like the greatest albums of all time.
  • yeah, a different planet back in the 60s

It's 2008 and there's been countless that have come after him who have done more and done it better

Being first doesn't automatically make you the best.

Care to list some examples of this?

bullshit that kurt and ed beat out chris (even if he is a cunt now)... and scott over layne?! rossdale and love made the list?!? lanegan should be ahead of both those ass clowns

LOL! "ass clowns" is now my new favourite insult :D

Couldn't agree more about Gavin Rossdale (WTF?!) and Courtney Love, although I was more shocked that Mark Lanegan was 8th! Are they all deaf?! And stupid?!

Actually it enraged me most of all that Love's (lack of) mothering skills were mentioned. No one goes on about the parenting skills of male rockstars but this is clearly of utmost importance to the rest of the world if you're a woman. GRRRRRRRRR! Ok, feminist rant over.....for now ;)

I love Ed but Curt will always be the defining voice of the "grunge" scene

    Agreed.

As much as I love PJ...I have to say that I think Cornell takes this one. He has amazing vocals. Just listen to "Reach Down".
i'm with you. his vocal range is better than ed's imo and his scream is just phenomenal

That's the problem with most rock singers, they think they need to scream for every song. Dave Grohl still hasn't learned that yet.

big problems come with lists and categorizing.....

the way i look at it... how much richer is 'music' just because we had the pleasure of hearing these guys sing.

what would 'hunger strike' sound like if we didnt have chris and ed vocally duelling the way they did? say what you like. that song still gives chills.

that being said, i dont think kurt deserves to be at #1.

and btw, try to define grunge. ...

I would agree but i guess they should change the list to 'iconic' rather then 'best'

I never even heard of that Bush dude before. Courtney Love can Fuck off all she ever did of value was marry Kurt and where the fook is Mark Arm!?

    And what about Greg Dulli?

Dunno if he's 'grunge' or not (but then, what is?) but yeah, he definately belongs on this list.

    this list blows.

Bush & STP are not grunge, at least I don't consider either of them grunge and Courtney Love is... well... ugh.

Also, Neil young seems to be tossed in there for lack of the author being able to come up with 10 actual grunge singers aside from the obvious ones.

Mark Arm and Tad Doyle should have made the list... (yeah I love me some Tad)
