That's a tough one. I love Alice and have a strong like for Soundgarden. But I've got to give it to Nirvana - I just love the organized chaos of their music.

    You just nailed it.

Truly listen to "Very Ape" ... once you have that totaly figured out...then relisten to Nirvana's music
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

See I just don't get all the hype over Nirvana. I mean yes Bleach is a good album, I really like it but after that, I dunno, it just gets boring for me. I'm sure from a musical point of view it's good but I don't know much about that. All I know is, from listening to all three bands work over the years, Nirvana is the one that I get bored with most easily.

alice in chains and soundgarden played a rock more influenced metal roots, it´s because they showed a more guitar, vocal skills, in other way nirvana was always in other direction ´´punk, proto, garage, beatles easy melodies´´

sg and aic were more complete bands, but i choose Nirvana, maybe for their magic and catchy sound, kurt legend......................

I don't think that we will. Kim was supposed to do B-Sides after A sides came out, but it never materialized. IIRC, they still owe A&M/Interscope 1 album...probably waiting for a 25th anniversary or the rock and roll hall of fame induction for the Box set or B-sides.

I could be wrong on the 1 more album thing, but I seem to recall that A-sideas and B-Sides would have satisfied their contract. It's been 10 years...so I am probably more wrong than right. It just sticks in my head for some odd reason.
  • For some reason i think we will see it in about a year. My reasoning is two-fold:One being the lawsuit cornell has with his ex wife/manager susan silver over his music which could include b-sides/demos/covers/live material etc. I have hope that will be settled soon. Two being that ten year anniversary of there split would be april 9 2007. I would hope that within ten years thayil could gather up all the rarities for a box set, and the record company was waiting on the ten year mark to come. All speculation, but you never know.

I am shocked at the number of people here who don't think too much of Nirvana.

For me, I realise that w/o them, there probably would be none of those other bands. The music is amazing, because it really seems like it is about nothing, then you really listen to it, and its like holy crap...

I feel that CC was one of the most talented musicians of all time

IMO, the bands that change the music scene of "popular" music the most are:

    Hank Williams
    Beatles
    Elvis
    George Jones
    RDMC
    NKOTB :(
    Nirvana
