I enjoyed the track. I hope that this track changes radio. I'm sick of listening to bullshit.

We need more bands with chops and something to say.

My thoughts exactly. I was honestly scared to listen to this out of fear of being let down. Lived up to even my wildest expectations!

    Holy crap this is unreal!

BTW - do you guys not like Lateralus or something?

I love Lateralus.....but i enjoy Tool's evolving sound and this sounds like they continued right off of Lateralus.
Musically is is outstanding. The Guitar has been done already on Schism/Lateralus. The vocals leave alot to be desired. Below average job by Maynard.
    No one is Righteous.......

I was just gonna post that :D

That, coupled with how good Vicarious is has got me psyched.

I think I'm in love with the new PJ album though. This is the first night lately where I've been able to tear myself away from it...

To the people who think this track is so mind blowing...have you heard Anemia? Now that album is mind blowing...I hope they have a couple of those style track on 10,000 Days.

I'm with you, Tool albums are always events for me , after waiting five years it seems like I won't be dissapointed this time. I was alittle dissapointed by Lateralus, still better than most bands, but for me it wasn't as good as their others, this one, judging by the single anyways, seems to be right back on track.

Yeah they will. Go read that review of the new album. It alludes to some cool re-referencing of themes (on purpose), and taking them new places. Almost like Aenema was a forebearor to Lateralus, which was a forebearer to the themes they are exploring on this new one.

I can't wait to hear it.

Yeah, Aenema was definitely in my top 5 albums of the '90's, btw...

Vicarious is the first track on the record, I believe, so maybe it is kind of a bridge between the records, thus the similar sounds?
The Man has a branch office in each of our brains, his corporate emblem is a white albatross, each local rep has a cover known as the Ego, and their mission in this world is Bad Shit.

I don't know why but this post made me laugh. Maybe it's because we all know how Echoes feels of Lateralus and music in general.

I can't claim myself to be a big Tool fan as I only have Lateralus and have only heard one of their other albums(not sure which, think it had Prison Sex on it or something). All the same, I like this track and I'll still pick the album up. They'll never be one of my favorite bands but just something different from the other stuff I listen to. Always good to have some variety.

Man, Coachella cannot come quick enough!

I swear, when I saw this leak I kid you all not, I had to go walk around for a little while to get my mind ready to hear this. I had been waiting for so damn long.
  • hmm. sounds like every other tool song ever released.

don't get me wrong.....i respect tool. amazing musicians.......but they have written a couple dozen songs that all sound the same
