  • AImothafuckinC...Soundgarden is a close second and Nirvana is a distant third...I'd vote for Candlebox long before Nirvana

Good points. First off i have to admit that i'm not much of a lyric guy and a good riff or solo is all i need. And you're right that Layne wrote most of Jar of Flies lyrics (and i THINK all the Mad Season lyrics) what i was trying to say but didnt' actually say it clearly was that Kurt, to his credit, WAS Nirvana, in every sense that he could be. That's a big deal in my opinion. the rest of the band was basically just there because you need a bassist and drummer. Layne, on the other hand was just a part of what made Alice what they are. That's what makes Alice a better band than Nirvana, but i don't think it makes Layne infinitely better than Kurt.

Of course, I already said in the first post of this tread that I'm a bigger Nirvana fan but think Alice is a better band, so i guess i'm just repeating myself
fair enough :D sorry I just can't help going on about Layne.

Soundgarden my favourite by far. Chris Cornell is one of my favourite singers, really amazing. Down on the upside is a great album.
People say im paranoid. Well, they dont say it, but i know that's what they are thinking.
  • Thats hard for me I would probably put Alice first, just bought Jars on Vinyl on Ebay recently and what an awesome record I'd forgotten how good Sap & JOF was having got rid of my cd in fit of madness some time ago, my wife got me back into them being a fan herself.

Although the vinyl sounds 10 times better than the cd on my Rega Planar 3, Dirt is just a dark dirty masterpiece I've got a copy of facelift on the way soon so I can't wait for that.

Soundgarden second Badmotorfinger & Superunknown great fucking records and down onthe upside is an underated album, as for the earlier albums I recently aquired a copy of ultramega Ok and that was complete shit sounds like the fuckin darkness for christ sake, so I won't be bothering with loud as love thankyou.

Nirvana last, Nevermind is an awesome record no denying although I always prefered Ten being more of a PJ fan Bleach just don't get it. maybe I'll give inutero another go sometime, but Vs just leaves it in the shade for me one of the defining albums of the 90's for me alongside Ok Computer and Achtung Baby.

    Nirvana for me
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.
