yeah they're cheap but i don't know... i think that in general, if you're getting a *great* deal, it means someone else is getting a bum one... the overseas workers, local businesses or domestic workers. some people can't afford to shop anywhere else, but i think we're really gonna reap what we sow for allowing walmart to become the juggernaut it is.
and i do think a store should be able to stock whatever it wants but i am personally annoyed that a company that is so ethically questionable is turning around and making a moral judgment about what music i can buy.0 -

My parents gave us that tip, and it was brilliant.
Well, no shit, Sherlock. But they do. So your point is moot.0 -
I don't recall any PJ records having a parental advisory sticker. I think Sprawlmart refuses to sell any records with the sticker, thus the Green Day issue. And I'm not living this life without you, I'm selfish and clear
And you're not leaving here without me, I don't wanna be without
My best... friend. Wake up, to see you could have it all0 -

I'm not really sure you know what you are talking about.
For the most part, the groceries I buy at Wal-Mart are the exact same groceries I would get anywhere else. Just cheaper. Because Evil-Ass Wal-Mart can do that.everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do0 -
bazzer wrote:Not so. My point was that you'd be better off saving your money than spending it on diapers you don't need. I'm just saying, someone reading your post might think it's a great idea (thanks, Mr and Mrs slightofjeff's parents) and end up with a room full of nappies they can't use because their shop (Walmart or otherwise) won't take back year old nappies. No offense to your folks, but did they really tell you to indiscriminately buy up all the nappies you could while you didn't have a baby, because once the baby arrives Walmart will take back all the ones you don't use anyway? Use the time value of money to your advantage!
I still need the diapers. Just a different size. Not really a big deal to exchange them, because Wal-Mart would do that.
Probably more of a pain in the ass to do it your way, actually.everybody wants the most they can possibly get

Good . . . fuck Walmart.
As a matter of fact that is a great name for the new CD "FUCK WALMART" and will help ensure it gets banned.0 -

Yes she does . . . Walmart sells CRAP! At least 90% crap.0 -
slightofjeff wrote:soulsinging wrote:slightofjeff wrote:This has come up a lot recently, because we began buying diapers for our baby almost literally the day we found out we were pregnant. We didn't care about sizes. Now, we have a bunch of diapers our baby has grown out of.
Why did you do that?
To spread the cost of buying diapers out over a longer period of time, obviously. We're going to be using diapers for years. Might as well get a head start.
Instead of sitting around until the day our daughter was born and saying, "Oh shit, we better start buying diapers" we started buying a pack here and there during the pregnancy. I'm not sure that makes any objective sense. You're still spending the same amount on diapers, aren't you? So what difference does it make when you buy them? You're not saving anything really. And now you've got the added hassles of 1) storing a ton of random diapers for a few months and 2) returning and exchanging a bunch of diapers you don't need and can't use.
But hey, you seem happy with the idea, so more power to you.0 -
Just to play devil's advocate here... was playing Rock Band 2 last night and noticed that Why Go (assume Jeremy is too) was edited. Figured it would be, but how is this any different than what the OP was talking about? Playing by the manufacturer's rules to ensure wider distribution.

fuck walmart for music, yeah walmart for laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, cereal, vitamins, dvd's, toilet paper, mayo.....
actually, i just picked up green day & offspring @ 'super sounds' (local music store) paying 16.99 ea.
so all the money i save @ walmart on grocerys, i can spend at local stores who charge way too much.
full circle bitches!0 -

Yeah, but it was nice for the first few months, when we had a lot of added expenses (paying off the hospital, paying for shots, getting a grip on the cost of formula, etc) to not have to also throw in money for diapers. We already had a closet full of them.
You're still spending the same amount on diapers (obviously). The difference is WHEN you're having to pay for them. It worked out well.everybody wants the most they can possibly get

Did you even read my post? I buy THE SAME STUFF (brands) that I buy everywhere else. Same brand of laundry detergent. Same brand of tortilla chips. Same brand of light bulbs. Same brand of baby formulas.
It's the SAME SHIT.everybody wants the most they can possibly get

Sorry . . . I do understand they sell the same stuff other stores have (sometimes at lower prices). All there stuff is not always the best value in town. I still think they sell a lot of really cheep CRAP. You get what you pay for cheep.0 -

Over the span of a lifetime, I'm still buying the same number of diapers. I'm not so sure why this is so hard to comprehend.everybody wants the most they can possibly get

because it's like overpaying your taxes during the year just to get a big refund... instead of keeping it in the bank and accruing interest, you are spending it before you have to... more convenient maybe, but not as great as earning your own interest over a 9 month period.0 -

I don't buy enough cds to care though and will shell out the few extra bucks to get the dirty version @ FYE if need be.
All i can think of is rape me by nirvana being changed to waif me. LOL.
I was one of the idiots who bought In Utero at Wal-mart. I don't think I realized that until I got home. Thankfully, the music was still the same. Also, Wal-mart doesn't sell all of the same stuff as its competitors. I can't get any of my cat food or litter (or bird food, for that matter) at Sprawl-Mart. I go to Target and feel good about it.0 -
bazzer wrote:The part that is hard to comprehend for you is that if something costs the same price but you buy it now instead of in a year's time when you need it, it has actually cost you more (it's called the time value of money). But whatever, I'm sorry I made a big deal out of it, it seemed to work well for you, so that's great.
I'm seriously not understanding wtf you are talking about. I could spend $10 on a package of diapers 10 months ago, when I had an extra $10. Or I can spend $10 on a package of diapers today, when I don't really have an extra $10.
Either way, I spent $10.everybody wants the most they can possibly get

That's why I do not shop at that bible banging store.0
