put your $$$ where your mouth is?
for that site, which yes, i have bookmarked and visit regularly...all you need to do is "click to give"...hardly putting your $$$ where your mouth is. that said, you bet we give to animal organizations, tho really....even if we didn't doesn't mean one can't still fully believe all animals have certain rights - one can support that ideal in many ways, and many that don't include $$$.

anyhoo, that is a good site b/c it also links to great other 'click to give sites' that help support child literacy, breast cancer research, feeding the hungry...and of course, helping animals. ALL good things.

relax dream. I was just messing around about putting money where your mouth is.

damn emoticons...perhaps a ;) rather than simply a :)....and i just might have seen it was meant to be 'humorous'...tho i still would not have chuckled, at least i'd have gotten it.

btw - i don't think one has to be an 'animal lover' to see when something is wrong, no matter the species. i don't particularly love all animals or all people for that matter....but i absolutely think certain things are just wrong, wrong, wrong in the treatment of any of the above. and yes, i would oftentimes put different species on the same level in regards to my concern or thoughts of certain actions being wrong.

VIck should be allowed to play again.
The better question would be, will he ever be in the kind of shape/mentality to play quarterback at the game's highest level? How many stories have you hear about players (mostly the ones you hear about are college guys who are big time pro prospects) taking a year off because of legal problems and never making in back into the league again.

On a side note, and this is something I have wondered about alot over the past few years- how do you think Michael and Marcus Vick's mother feels? You are blessed with not one, but two sons who have the natural athletic ability to earn the kind of money that could change your family's entire station in life. And both of them piss it away because of dumbass decisions.

i wonder if they feel any responsibility, as in...perhaps if they set a better example, taught them stronger values, etc. i am not saying they didn't do these things...the responsibility for the actions of their children lie soley with their children, but i think oftentimes parents do feel partially responsible, rightly or wrongly.......

i mean dogfighting, it's not just a dumbass decision, it is utterly cruel......

So is rape....which I believe was one of Marcus's many crimes.

My 2 cents regarding some of the comments brought up here.

I do not dog fight, and I'm a dog lover. That being said, he has every right to play in the NFL again if the commish allows it.

To me, a rape and or domestic violence is worse than this issue, how many of those guys play in the NFL? Pac Man Jones is still in the NFL, his actions led to a PERSON dying.

As for donating money to PETA, fuck that. I think PETA is the worst thing animal activists have going for them. PETA is about shock factor and don't do much that is positive IMO.

The reason this issue is so passionate is because we Americans love our dogs. Man's best friend right? If he got busted for Cock fighting he'd probably be playing already.

sad but true. all of it really.....but just focusing on the animals, it is true. we are very 'selective' in who or what we deem worthy in regards to concerns about utter cruelty.

Very true, some people that dislike dogs probably don't see much wrong with what Vick did. It's all a matter of who, what, and where.

I'm a meat eater and those poor animals are often treated like Non-Germans in a concentration camp. But I still eat it the stuff and love it. 8-)

should he be allowed? absolutely. He served his sentence and he's a free man.

should an NFL team sign him? No.

it would be wonderful if that happened. he's there, ready to go. the head guy says 'you can play'... and then no one takes him. like dogs or not, it's sick to think about watching one being killed right in front of you, for money.

in reality, though, someone will sign him... there will be protests.... he'll play and people will buy tickets to watch.

He should be let back in.
a)he's served his debt to society and
    b) there are people who have done worse things to people playing in the NFL and every other pro sport

As far as a team givin him a chance and the pr nightmare....... peta and everybody else that is gonna throw a fit about it has a price.
