PJ (and Ed) are never that good on these TV shows. Their music always sounds better live than on these kinds of TV talk shows. The music on the new song was fantastic. I couldn't hear Ed's lyrics though - looking forward to reading them some place. Ed's sound was not good (not his voice, his audio).
The band overall looked happy and intense, and more importantly loved the music - very excited for his new album. And I was so glad to see Jeff looking healthy after that Atlanta thing.
Backspacer? The Fixer? I guess PJ wants to keep us guessing until we get the whole shiny package.
I really liked the new song, it has a great hook. After watching last night's performance my expectations for the next album have been raised, what does worry me is Eddie. He looks terrible, my Wife even commented he looked heavy. It's not the jolly drinking heavy look he had in '93-'94 but rather a bloated unhealthy look. And the hair looks horrible, his hairline is disappearing and the hair he does have looks so dry and brittle.
Jeff was going bald real bad very early on, which is why he always had something on his head. However sometime since '98 he got a really good hair transplant, Jeff looks great now. Ed has a ton of money, he should do whatever he needs to do to address the hair situation. He's starting to look like Ace Freely/ Ron Jeremy.

People get older....that's a fact. Not everyone is so vain that they have to have a procedure to correct mother nature. I care about the music not how old the band looks. As far as the music goes, the base was great. Performing it could use a little fine tuning, but ya'll know the wrinkles will be ironed out.
Cripe  , the last few comments I have read, which are the first ones about last night's performance (that I missed due to being comatose and exhausted) are surprising. I'm not one for those late night shows anyway, I'll try to catch the performance on Youtube and judge for myself.

Last year at Eddie's solo show he was talking about how he was quiting smoking, know from personal experience, puts a few pounds on ya. Not that I care, he will always be beautiful to me.
"Really don't mind if you sit this one out.
My words but a whisper -- your deafness a SHOUT.
I may make you feel but I can't make you think."
It was alright. You can't expect excellence on a late night show! The song sounds good, but yes the sound was iffy, the vocals were scratchy, but the band looked and sounded good after an initial wince from me (it didn't sound good at all at the beginning of the song, to me). Do people realize how small Eddie is? Man, I'm petite and when I gain 3 pounds, it's noticeable. He's probably the same way, not to mention that the TV adds ten pounds. Give the guy a break! He doesn't have to look perfect all the time! A little conditioner on the hair would help though.
after watching in it twice now, I like the song. I agree with everyone that the sound mix was off. Eddie was buried and Jeff's Bass was way in front. The song was rockin' though.
That has to be the most hair Stone has had since 1992.

Pantene Pro-V works great, when I was in my long hair days ('93-98) I used Pantene and my girlfriend was jealous.

what a critical bunch, i thought it was alright...but thats a good sign, if i like it right out of the gate the song loses its appeal sooner. And what the fucks all this shit about eddie and his weight, you guys need to relax, i thought he looked fine.

I liked the song, it took me towards the middle to get into it and the second time around was better.
I agree that Ed looked like he was struggling a bit and his face is very bloated, almost like he had an allergic reaction to something?

He is 2 inches taller than I am...I look like a basketball when I put on an extra 10 pounds..He needs to dance around a bit more, more shows to tone him back up??? Or maybe I could help with that??? hehehehe
I knew all the rules, but the rules did not know me...GUARANTEED!

Thought the guitars sounded amazing and the tempo was great. Vocals sounded a little low. Could've been either the mix or Ed's voice straining from solo tour. Either way it was enough to get me back into 10C. I love it when the band ramps up again and a US tour is on the horizon.

Just got to see the Conan Show over here in the UK. Only 24 hours behind! ...I'd resisted watching it on the internet before watching it on TV. Thoroughly enjoyed the song!! Great work PJ.

Ok, so Ed looks a little heavy. But he'll lose the weight once they get on the road. He got kinda skinny with their last tour. That seems to be the general pattern with alot of male rockers...they lose the weight on tour. The ladies pack on the pounds..don't know why. Matt sounded like the man I remember from his Soundgarden days. It's about time they highlight his skill!!!Luuuv Stone's hair.

I know... want are appearances, anyway? It's the substance that counts, right? I thought they all looked great... even super scruffy Stone.
Now... if the song sounded like something Jessica Simpson would sing... then, yeah... that would be an issue.

Stone is sexiest when he's scruffy! :ugeek: and friends, stop with the Ron Jeremy comparison to Ed jokes. I've heard enough..

I think Conan's opening and audience applause ran longer than expected, hence one song.
