Yeah, Marchand is a piece of work - ow, I'm not sure which of my knees is hurt! Apparently, cross checking Henrik and Pavel is A-OK! Lucic is a p*ssy and Thornton sucks! Sorry can't be more eloquent!

    Great, now it's tied... >:)

Man, that was a nailbiter last night! I always went down on my knees when they approached our goal (to help the goalie blocking it imageimage ).

That Chara guy is driving me up the walls. Too big, too mean, to grrr ... All of the Bruins seemed so much more physically aggressive to my untrained eye. I could be wrong and I am partial though...

GO Wings, you can do it!

Did anyone else think the Bertuzzi "interference" on Chara was great? Big dude like that goes down like a sack of potatoes from backing into someone...great, hardworking, tough team these Bruins are...

Yup - Boston is just too big for the Wings. Way more aggressive. We need an enforcer like in the old days. I thought we might be able to skate away from them with our speed, but no where to hide!

I like your positivity, Leeze! I wish I had your optimism! :)) Unfortunately, I feel like they will be eliminated on my birthday - oh well. :(

Chara's little grin is driving me crazy, too. Being 6'10" or whatever is just freakish for a hockey player.

    Go Wings!

I think many people under estimate the Bruins skill ... they are a big team, but skilled and skate a lot better than some think as well. You do not lead the league in scoring and win the presidents trophy without having some skill. I thought last night game was decent, Detroit was great in the first have half and the Bruins were better in the second half.

eh... with all due respect you guys are done. this boston team is built for the playoffs and pounding teams in best of seven series. i just don't see the wings, or any team for that matter taking three straight from them.

The Hawks are also built for the playoffs as well ... the wings need less undersized players and more big bodies ... unfortunately for the wings obtaining those big body players are not easily done ... teams generally hang onto those players.

lol laughed when Ferraro was talking about Marchand... calling him a rat fuck more or less....but a good player that nobody would remember if he wasnt any good.

Detroit needs more size indeed... especially against Boston. A lot of calls could have been made against Boston last night that weren't...but i could be biased... hehe

I'll play a Cherry advocate here, Detroit should have a goon to protect Dats and Zett. Marchand chasing Zett last night after the play... no respect at all. Dats getting checked like crazy... Put on your goon and straighten them out pretty quick...but thats not D's style... i know. Just a touch more of grit would go far to team morale.

I have alot of issues with Detroits D as well... including Smith. I havent seen many games this year but of the ones i have seen and prior years he played, he seems like a liability to me... penalties galore.

That being said Go Wings Go!
    Hamilton 9-13-05; Toronto 5-9-06, Toronto 8-21-09, Toronto 9-12-11, Hamilton 9-15-11....

Love the activity in this thread!

Wings definitely need some size, but with the instigator rule comes another set of problems... Missing guys like Holmstrom, who get under the other team's skin!

That game was pretty tame compared to the hitting going on in some of the other series. Everyone of those players that have been mentioned you guys would take on the Wings in a heartbeat. I agree that if the instigator rule was eliminated there would be more open space for the skilled players ... they'll never eliminated the instigator rule, so essentially you have to build your team accordingly, it's been that way for a while.

Break out from the defensive zone was always key for Detroit and Boston shut it down in the 3rd.

I cringe everytime i see 3-4 Det players in the corner covering 2 peeps.

    Hamilton 9-13-05; Toronto 5-9-06, Toronto 8-21-09, Toronto 9-12-11, Hamilton 9-15-11....

Of course! That is usually how it is with most people, right? Hated Chelios until he became a Wing. Blackhawks fans loved him until he became a Wing. Would love to have Marchand or Chara on the Wings. Do not ever want to see that pussy Lucic on the Wings.

Wings had some good chances in the first half of the games.

I wouldn't want Marchand on the Wings. He can't hit the broadside of a barn.
