"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

T-minus 10 days (depending on your time zone ;) - 17 April 2011) until the premiere.

If you're interested there's a video clip featuring the first twelve minutes of the show available at HBO.

I'm not watching it myself. Going to wait to experience the whole episode all at once :)

I'm gonna skip the first 15 minutes too, but I'm excited!

BTW, if you want something to watch in the meantime, check out "The Killing" a new show on AMC. I really enjoyed the 2 hour first episode.

EDIT: Just checked the HBO Canada website and it says the premiere is on the 17th now. Woo hoo! No waiting and avoiding spoilery reviews.

Interview with Sean Bean on the LA Times site. They've done a good job at building this up.

Unfortunately, I don't get HBO, so I'll have to find some other way to watch this. Finished the first book, 1/2way through the second. Excellent stuff.

Cool interview. I loved this part:
Bean added that “Thrones” should not be mistaken for “The Hobbit“: “‘Lord of the Rings’ was more magical and ephemeral and this fantasy conflict between clear good and clear evil. This is much more disturbing. This is not something that children should be watching. George Martin looks like Santa Claus but he’s got a wonderfully disturbed mind.”

Glad you enjoyed the first book. I liked book 2 especially the Tyrion parts. He is the man in that book, but Storm of Swords still stands as my favorite.

  • Dunno if I should watch this as soon as it shows over here or wait for the dvds.

I like to watch it over a couple days rather than weeks.

Thanks for the article link merkinball :)

Digital Twilight, I get what your saying, sometimes I like to have a marathon as well; however, I don't think that I could wait on this one. Maybe watch the first episode and see if your hooked. If you're not, then wait an see it when they are all done airing.

I like geeky stuff and i don't think i've been this excited about a show/movie ever.

When the x-men movie came out i was geeked up but not like this.
For Lord of the Rings my geek monitor was set on high but i think i'm even more excited and geeked up about this then I was that. That of course is probalby beacuase when the LotR movie came out it had been about 8 years since i last read the books I just finished reading the Song of Ice & Fire books in Feb.

    3 Days.....

I believe the Mildred Pierce series was just a mini-series. I don't think there are going to be anymore episodes.

Woo hoo, couple more days

Yeah they just jumbled them together. Oh well!

Can't wait for this one. There was an article on Yahoo that shows more characters than I had seen, such as Osha and the hound!

I was up late one night and had nothing to watch so I put Mildred Pierce on and told myself I would give it 20 minutes. I enjoyed it a lot. I've only seen the first two episodes, but they were really good.

Makes me think this one is going to be really good too! There were different previews for game of thrones before and after each episode of MP!
