I'm driving in from Detroit. Is it true that the Hyatt is asking for 48 dollars a night parking???? WTF if true. Any garages close by to park?

there is another thread discussing the parking situation. I found a site that lists parking garages around the hotel. I'm not sure how much they are. I will be calling a few of them closer to the date to see if we find one with a decent price.

also, add corduroy10 to the list of people staying at the hotel

Grant Park North Parking Garage (Millenium Park) is probably about 3-5 blocks away. That's probably the cheapest you'll get that close to the hotel. It used to be cheap......don't know if it's still as cheap as it used to be. It seems that in the last few months Chicago hiked up the parking rates/meters.

I just booked a room here too for myself and my girlfriend. I have a $200 gift card for Hyatt and Priceline @ $60 is still cheaper for 2 nights! They must be expecting a light weekend with schools starting back up.

first post updated...29 rooms now! Can we get to 50?! I know there are people from the chicago hotels thread who haven't signed this one over here...

how long before the deal runs out at Priceline, do you think? I'm surprised they've given us so many rooms...

Yeah, we all got our good rate through Priceline.com, so definitely get it now....

Go to the Name your own price section...when it asks you to select the area, choose the one with "Loop" in it...select a four star hotel...and put in a bid of $60.

If there are rooms left, you should get the Hyatt Regency like the rest of us. I haven't heard anyone say it didn't work for them yet. Important to note, though...this is not a reservation, you have to pay for the room now. Also, parking is expensive ($48/night), which is an obvious issue for those coming with or renting a car.

    good luck!

I think that's a question only the Hyatt Regency can answer...

    probably depends on the day...

Hey, I guess I need to update! I just bought PJ tickets for the second night, so I am now booked at the Hyatt from Friday the 21st - 26th (Wed). Added a day to catch the Cubs and hopefully Ed singing the 7th inning stretch.

So if any of you guys are staying an extra night for the added show (like me!), you can easily extend your stay via Priceline.com...just go to your order history and click on the order you made for the hotel and you should see the "limited time" offer to extend your stay at the same rate...

Two nights in Chicago!!!! WHOOO HOOOOOOOO!

Yup, just extended my stay for the second show on Priceline. 4 nights in Chicago and 2 nights with Pearl Jam! What a perfect end to the summer.

Good to know that you can extend your stay. I'm on the fence right now about doing night 2. I live north of Milwaukee and I have a room for Sun. night only and I took Mon. off of work. Right now I don't think I'm ready to commit to night 2 tickets. I'd rather see where the West Coast shows happen to be and save up money to do a couple out there. If I do night 2 I'll probably just try and find someone willing to share a 10C set closer to the show date. I could just grow a pair and drive back from Chicago after the show Monday night too. :|
