I'm kind of glad I've got general admission tickets for London/Manchester in August. I'm wondering how early I should get there to get up close though?0

I am member 173xxx and my wife's number is 154xxx, and we have been 5th row in mtl 2003, 3rd row quebec city 2005...after that in Toronto 2006 we were 7th row, and in hartford 2006 we were 11th row (all floor seats)...so we got fairly decent seats for those shows...But in 2003 NY city were were on the side not even the floor, so it depends on how many americans with lower numbers going there ahead of us I guess :-)...cheers!Montreal 08-20-1998

front row in 98, but that was when they had a mail order system, and the first orders in their hands got best seats, and I overnighted my order.
4th row last year in VA Beach, and that's 2 rows behind normal because of the random first two rows.
Go to a less populated show, and you'll get 6th row or so.ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you.

My best seats ever were the last time I saw them actually---I had 8th row (or 9th) at the Santa Barbara Bowl 2006 so that is not too shabby!!! VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED AT THAT!So I'll just lie down and wait for the dream

I'm ok with my row, but I would welcome a lottery to get me even closer one day.
I am at 137,xxx member since 96..got fan club tickets for the no code tour..and it all depends on what city...for the garden shows i was so far back on the floor id rather had a newer # and sat on the sides...but for jones beach shows in 2000 and satatoga..and boston shows i was a tweek closer...even better seats at the canada shows in 05...was around 5th row or so..sadly ill never see the front row..best i was done was 2nd row dead center at msg II in 98..before the senority and thanks to uconndave(RIP) i had second row dead center at the VFC show in toledo:)
Dude, I was at MSG I in 98 and I had 10C tickets, but I was in the upper/lower bowl, side stage, Stone's side. that show was completely polluted with worldwide 10C fans. I think whoever was in the first/second rows, they blew someone to get those seats. LOL!
ps. Looks like 1996 was the hottest year to join, I joined late in the year, hence our huge membership # difference. but it's cool though.~*~Me and Hippiemom dranketh the red wine in Cleveland 2003~*~

So I have read in this post that your number never changes...
So if someone with a decent number does not renew their membership, what happens to that number? Is it weeded out? This doesn't make sense to me? Why wouldn't the numbers change? Kinda seems a little unfair...
I think your number should change every year due to people not renewing their membership...that way you can get a better number....
But I HIGHLY doubt this will ever happen....but I bet it would be a pain in the ass though trying to update numbers ever year also...setting a cut off date and crap like that...but still...what happens to those numbers? Shouldn't paying customers that have stayed in awhile and kept their membership up get rewarded with a better number for sticking around....or does this mean their higher number gets better when people do not renew?
Oh well no big deal, just always happy to be at the shows....when time allows for it...
My member #311,XXX.....best seats was at the Fox in STL for VFC....I highly doubt I will ever see front row unless a lotto comes up...0 -

Changing everyone's numbers every time someone dropped out of the Ten Club would be a logistical nightmare.
But it makes no difference; if one person with a lower number than yours quits, you move up forward spot."They said ... timing was everything

there's a ... lot to be said for nowhere."0 -

I'm a west coaster too and #148xxx and I usually end up between rows 5 and 12. In 2000 me and a buddy hit 6 shows on the west. I think the closest was row 5 in Mountain View. In Seattle we were something like row 15. Row 5 Mt. View was the best. I believe that was the Halloween show with the band dressed as the village people.“I suppose our capacity for self-delusion is boundless.” ― John Steinbeck, Travels with Charley: In Search of America0

as many have already mentioned and i will reiterate:
it sooooo depends on the WHERE you get your live pj fix!
i live in NY, so NYC is my 'hometown' show and i have an eh #.....but even with that, i still get OK seats.....but always on the wings/back a bit. however, my crap # scored 9th row center in edmonton. traveling outside of the crazed regions of pj fans, meaning mostly the NE and of course cali....you can definitely do better.....and even outside of those regions, stay out of the bigger cities and hit up some smaller city shows. or sure, go to europe and hit up a bunch of the GA shows....i've done it and it was a fantastic experience. i hope someday to catch pj in oz, and would love to see what my mediocre # can do for me down under.
Stay with me...
Let's just breathe...
I am myself like you somehow0 -
I'm 192*** and normally am somewhere in the first 20 rows in big city shows and first ten rows in mid-size city shows like in Tennesses or the Carolinas. Best tickets ever...Halifax, 2005, 4th row center. I love 10C seats because the energy amongst the group is so great! Between the time you sit down and when the lights go down everyone is talking about their 10C numbers, their seats, the shows they've been to, the shows they're going to...it's very cool.0

You sir are correct, I am a '96er, my first show was front row at Randalls Island 1 (back when it was GA), stormed the gate and ran to the rail, I am 147xxx and joined sometime summer '96 and even at Camden 2 '08 was like 10th row center...so it is possible I guess depending on the venue/10c population...I'm holding out for the West Coast swing, but I guess there's a crazy bunch of heads out there too...so who knows!I met my wife here...you can too! Don't lose hope!0 -

Okay....don't hate me....but my number is #49XXX and on the last tour, all my seats were second row."Our life is frittered away by detail. Simplify, simplify." --Henry David Thoreau

Yes, there are that many members.
My number is 187,xxx and I was far, far away in Hartford last June. I almost couldn't believe it but I was surrounded by similarly confused members with numbers like mine. The East Coast shows are like that. :?
Ok, here's the rundown of proximity for me (the good ones and the 10c ones)... member # 214,xxx (after 2x expired and reup... i think the most recent was 2000?). A bunch of threads had got me wondering when I had originally joined, but I just confirmed that it was 1992... I have the xmas single with Sonic Reducer and Ramblings (not the 95 reducer live one). I digress.-
1993 - Toronto - TM tix - accidentally (no really) got in the 10c line (actually didn't have 10c tix for that show coz we decided so late to go). GA on the floor, 10c early entry. I was one of the first ~100 people in the building. parked it 2 "rows" of people back (we all sat down, 2 hrs till the show I think) and during the show, i volleyed (LOTS of moshing back then) between the front row/fence and about 10 "rows" back. Best Show Ever (Blues Traveler, Soundgarden, PJ, Neil Young... to be fair, I went back to my nosebleed seats after PJ... I could barely stand up I was so tired).
1994 - Rochester - GA floor (don't recall 10c tix or not)... less than 10 rows back the whole night. Awesome. I had knee surgery 3 months before but I wore my brace and toughed it out (still lots of moshing back then). :-)
2000 - Boise - 10c tix - about 30 rows back. they had these cheesy interlocking seats on the floor... literally after one song of the opening act...
2006 - Vienna, Austria - 10c tix - GA floor (10c got early entry). ~10 "rows" back the whole show. along the spine that went down the middle. Ed walked down it to do Last Kiss from the sound board. I was closer to him than you are to your computer right now (though he didn't stop to chat! LOL). Funny... No moshing that I could see... are we all getting old or what?
2008 - MSG II - 10c tix - about 5 rows in front of the LAST floor row. WAAAY back there.
2008 - Hartford - 10c tix - see beginning of post... not so close.
site note to keep it real: 1996 - Buffalo - (i think this was one of the times my membership lapsed?)... "as far back as you can get in the Marine Midland Arena". No, literally, we could touch the wall... top row, in the corner farthest from the stage... i think I really did get a nosebleed.joe2468 wrote:I'D RATHER BE wrote:428,000 members = a lot of money.

I've only had the opportunity for front-row-center seats one time. The other fan club tickets I've had, have been 4 or 5th row. Only once were my seats soooo far back on the floor - that I didn't even enjoy the show.
I'm grateful to the TenClub that I got to interact with Stoney, up-close and personal that one, first row wonderful evening!
