Only going to west coast shows. When do I get my turn in the front row or even the first 5 rows? I've been to 15 Pearl Jam shows and haven't had my turn yet.

I'm 176^^^
I've been to 7 PJ shows and the closest I ever sat was row 12 at the gorge night 2... gorge night one I sat in row 20... vancouver bc i sat in row 20... seattle key arena 2002... row 22....in LA my seats weren't even on the floor for either show.....but those are all pretty decent seats so i wasn't too upset.
Eddie Vedder solo: 2008 - Boston night 1 & 2 || 2009 - Albany, NY night 1 & 2 || 2011 - Hartford, CT, Boston, MA
Never closer than 300 feet away from the stage
That's the best way to go... I gave my Ten Club tickets to my brother and dad and then I paid this lovely person for her extra ticket and I sat a little closer...
I word of caution though, it is extremely hard to find someone who has an extra Ten Club ticket, especially if they are really close... and some people get irritated if you ask for a ticket and turn them down because they are not close enough...i don't see why.. but that's the vibe i caught.
20 rows back on the floor in St. Paul 03
7 or 8 rows back on the floor in North Dakota 03
I mostly get 2nd row off the floor on Stone's side of the stage
I guess that is better than being 20 rows back.

And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky....
My number is 219xxx and in 2003 in Nashville I was about 20 rows back just slight right of center and in Little Rock I was 7th row dead center on the isle. Tons of room and a great view.
The seats in Nashville weren't bad. I'm guessing there were fewer 10c members at the Little Rock show than Nashville.
you have to wait until the other 183000 people who have better numbers than you die... hopefully you'll outlive them.

(Or, go to a show that doesn't draw so many fanclub members.)
Are there that many members that even those of you with lower numbers can't get close? Or does TM get half of the first few rows? It seems to me you should have closer seats, but then as you said you did get decent seats. My number is 325xxx would that put me in the 40th row? Sheesh.
I have seen Pearl Jam I think ten times since 1998, and from the shows I have been to, I only remember one where non-fan-club members were at all close, and in that situation, I believe the ones up there were season ticketholders to a particular venue (or at least that was the rumor).
I don't know how many members there are total now, but if you figure there are 20-30 people per row, it wouldn't take that many people to push you back a few rows.
Either way, it's great to be surrounded by fan club members. I remember being on the lawn at a PJ show and it wasn't the view that was the worst part, it was being around drunks who didn't like PJ nearly as much as I did!!
Yes, there are that many members.
My number is 187,xxx and I was far, far away in Hartford last June. I almost couldn't believe it but I was surrounded by similarly confused members with numbers like mine. The East Coast shows are like that. :?
From what I've read here on the message board it seems that your best chance for close seats is to see a show in the southeast region of the country. Anybody else agree?
I think tm gets good tix at a lot of shows. In Denver 2006 I went with my mom who has a really really low number and we were in the front row in between Jeff and Mike. There were 2 guys a few seats down from us, center, in front of Ed and they said they bought their tix on tm at noon that day! For the second night we were in the second row in front of Stone and the couple next to us also bought their tix from tm that morning.

So true.
I'm 369^^^ (I'm only 18, not my fault) and live on Cape Cod, meaning I go primarily to Boston/Mansfield shows. My number might as well be 500^^^ for those shows.
I went to the D.C show in '08 though, and instead of being preetttyy far back in the Tweeter Center, or 3 sections back on the side of the Fleetcenter, I had some pretty good seats not too far from Mike on the side.
I guess my number is worth more there.
i joined in march of this year and i have 428xxx
average fan club price = $22.50 (20 + 25)/2
$22.50 X 428,000 = $9,630,000
So now I'm at the concert in the absolute last row on the left side of the stage. Before the concert starts, a couple of arena officials come up and ask us how many in our group. "Just the one" I put my hand up fast. They lead us down the stairs to a big row of (I'm guessing corporate?) empty seatss - 6 rows from the front on the side. The side the Band used to enter and exit. I was so close that when I flashed my boobs I got a head nod from Jeff and Stone. One of the greatest nights ever!!!!!
So don't despair - you will have a phenominal experience at a Pearl Jam show, it's just how fab they are.
