you guys who are familiar with the venue up there....

how are they at enforcing the no tailgate thing??? Are they like Andrew Peters or are they tough like Georges Laroque?

Another word to the wise: last time Pearl Jam played the Amphitheatre, tickets were gone eight minutes after the public onsale. The Molson Amphitheatre isn't especially big--16,000, give or take--and assuming a sizeable chunk's going to fan club and to radio presales it's probably gonna be a similar situation this time 'round.
10c tix still available so far as I can tell.

I'll be there too. Can't wait. I'm pretty tempted to stay an extra day for a Jays game too.

the jays are playing the la angels (of anaheim) that weekend (saturday & sunday 1:07 pm matinees). these games are listed as premium home games. this means that tickets will be $9 in the 500s (where the rowdy fans like me are), $25 outfield 200s, $31 outfield 100s, and progressively more expensive. unless the tickets are free, i never sit anywhere but the 500s, but i won't try and push my beliefs on you. but please try and catch 'em this year, just to say you saw the 2009 world series champs play this season (yeah, i went there).

unfortunately the argos (our cfl team) are not playing that weekend, so no good ol' canadian football for y'all.

I'll be there. That was the first thing I checked when I heard about Toronto

Does the CNE festival mean hotel rooms are gonna be impossible to get?
    2006- Boston I
    2008- Boston I+II
    2009- Toronto, Philly III+IV
    2010- Bristow, Hartford, Boston, Newark

Not at all. In fact, I highly doubt there will be more than 5 people making the trip from out of town for the CNE. It is probably the most overrated event in the City of Toronto.

What it will mean is more traffic, less parking, more people on public transit, etc.

I'm just hoping for a beautiful sunny day.

Yeah...like the last Amphitheatre show. You couldn've have scripted a better day/evening/night than that. It was beautiful!

Of course, the last time I was at the Amphitheatre (for Tom Petty in 2006), a torrential downpour broke out. It was pretty wild looking back from the floors and not being able to see the lawn...

    a few questions...
what is traffic like getting out of there after a show?
if I am driving from out of town,is it best to park away from the arena?
likely driving back to buffalo after the show to crash, then drive home in the AM... what is traffic like at the border around 1:00 AM?

    tailgating should be good
not like a Buffalo Bills game though - still a Canadian version.
but there are lots of sprawling parking lots and it's by the lake and there are parks and trees and sailboats and a cool breeze.
The venue is away from downtown a bit and there is lots of space for PJ fans to take over.
It will be in freakin' credible
