Like a lot of other people I got a weird error after I submitted my order, but I got a confirmaiton email and the order shows up in my history.
I told myself I wasn't going to buy tickets if the only shows announced were Toronto and Chicago, because I know more a likely coming. But, when I tried just to see if I could get through, and I did, I just oculdn't restrian myself!
Vart or anyone else from Albany, NYC, Boston, anywhere around this friggin region... driving or flying? I'm lookin at going with my friend from Iowa, so we'll meet there... I have an option to fly (8 gazillion frequent flyer miles) but would consider making the trip with some other PJ heads from the area.
got mine! had to walk the soon to be wife through it over the phone, man that was stressful, but now we get a great weekend out of it, pj, and a stop at niagra falls
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?
why were the tickets so easy to get ? i was traveling all day got the email on my blackberry but just got to my computer at 4:45 est and got the tickets with no problem. unlike most other 10C ticket purchases, actually told myself i was not going to get the tickets but when they popped up i couldn't stop myself !

Probably driving. I checked flights quick on Orbitz and it was over $400. I also looked at the train, but it looks like we would get there too late on Friday, and we wouldn't be able to go Thursday.
Unfortunately, don't see how they could add a show with the Chicago show on the 23rd - I am not thinking they play 3 nights in a row too often at this stage in their careers

Anyone else thing it is odd that tix to the TO gig rank behind an international membership in this week's top 10? Maybe demand isn't as crazy for the TO shows as we all assume??
What's the best hotel to stay in for this show? I see there's a Travelodge about a mile away on Kings Street West -- is that an easy walk, or highway?
submit a CDN$40 offer on Priceline for a 3-star hotel in the downtown core and you'll get a great deal on either the Hilton or Sheraton. just saying,...
See you at the shitty Amphitheatre!

Damn, the Molson Amphitheater doesn't allow tailgating.
if the parking lot at the venue won't allow tailgating and/or if cops roam the venue parking lot, you can always head to the parking lot across the street at the CNE where there's likely to be ZERO police presence, you can tailgate and just walk across the bridge to the venue,...

LOL!!!! The same thing happened to me. Had no intention of buying today. I couldn't help myself. I figured that 7th/8th row Toronto tix in hand were better than no tix for an unknown show. Do say a prayer for me b/c my wife is going to kill me!!!
I wonder if there are more tix than usual b/c they are still available for both shows.
alright, here's some valuable information for people attending this show:
-August 21st is the first day of the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE/theEX, http://www.theex.com/ ), which neighbours Ontario Place (home of the Molson Amphitheatre). opening day is historically the busiest day of the event, so if you're planning on driving or taking public transit, allot yourself extra time to park/get there (unless you're taking the mostly reliable GO train).
-typically with tickets to the molson amphitheatre, you are permitted FREE access to the CNE fairgrounds. the amphitheatre box office is located OUTSIDE Ontario Place & the CNE, so there should be no problems. the GO train and TTC stop outside the CNE, so you'll have to maneuver your way outside the grounds to Ontario Place -- ask anybody around for help, if needed. DO NOT pay for admission to theEX!!!
-blues legend Johnny Winter is playing at the CNE that same day. i have no information on his set time(s), or where on the grounds he'll be playing, but it'll probably be free. if he's playing an early show, i'd highly suggest catching him (and then praying mike joins him for an all-out blues jam), and drinking the ridiculously overpriced beer (VERY OVERPRICED, but i pay it every year).
-anyone looking to smoke weed before during or after the show, here's the deal. parking lots are good before the show. if you're inside the CNE, i'd recommend following your nose (you'll probably just end up finding me). at the show, the easiest place to do a potter is on the lawns section. smoking is illegal in covered areas and is a ticketable offence -- that said, if people around you are doing it, it shouldn't be a problem, but be respectful of your neighbour (like me).
-if you like rickety wooden roller coasters, and amusement rides upon which you may die, i recommend buying some ride tickets at the ex. no one will ever call you a wimp again. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_N ... Exhibition for more information.
-if you like to eat, check out the food building of the fair. i recommend the pirogies. but the ones from that guy that makes the best ones, and not the other guy. seriously though, any food you'd like, i'm sure you'll find it in the food building. (PIZZA ON A STICK)
-the venue does have a curfew of 11:00, but i've been to shows that have run until 11:30ish. recently, however, most have ended BEFORE 11:00, but PJ wouldn't screw us like that, so no worries.
-if you're one of those people that like soccer, our mls team plays at bmo field at the ex. i don't like soccer, so you'll have to find your own info. toronto fc sucks from what i hear though.

good call. traffic and the volume of people in the area will be much higher than normal,...
BUT, you've solved my dilemma as to what/where to eat for dinner, as i'll definitely be hitting the food building at the Ex before the PJ show!

don't forget there's no shortage of corndogs on the grounds. always keep room for corn dogs.
Well, after a whole lot of stress, I finally got them!
Not too impressed, since I didn't get the email till 3pm, and then I was at work so I couldn't get on here. Then my password wouldn't work...
A little warning would have been nice!
Oh well, it all worked out. Hopefully my #208xxx gets me some decent tix. I got SHAFTED for the Eddie shows, second last row!
Peace

Speaking of seniority & good seats - I'm a newer member and my number sucks (400xxx), just wondering what I should expect for seats? Could I have fared better on Ticketmaster?
I logged on after 2pm and got mine not problem!! Can't fucking wait, the last time they played Molson Ampitheatre i met and hung out with Eddie after the show for about an hour with a bunch of other fans!!!!

If you're waffling on driving vs. taking public transit, do yourself a favour and take public transit. The Amphitheatre's not the world's most accessible venue at the best of times, but the fact it's opening day of the CNE means this will not be the best of times. Only word of caution: the show will end at 11pm. The eastbound GO Train leaves Exhibition at 11pm. You'll end up waiting about forty minutes for the next train; given that, TTC might be the better option.

I'll be there too. Can't wait. I'm pretty tempted to stay an extra day for a Jays game too.
the jays are playing the la angels (of anaheim) that weekend (saturday & sunday 1:07 pm matinees). these games are listed as premium home games. this means that tickets will be $9 in the 500s (where the rowdy fans like me are), $25 outfield 200s, $31 outfield 100s, and progressively more expensive. unless the tickets are free, i never sit anywhere but the 500s, but i won't try and push my beliefs on you. but please try and catch 'em this year, just to say you saw the 2009 world series champs play this season (yeah, i went there).
unfortunately the argos (our cfl team) are not playing that weekend, so no good ol' canadian football for y'all.

Thanks. Yeah, I've been to the Jays before, but not in a couple of years. I'm with you about them being champs! September should be fun.
Another word to the wise: last time Pearl Jam played the Amphitheatre, tickets were gone eight minutes after the public onsale. The Molson Amphitheatre isn't especially big--16,000, give or take--and assuming a sizeable chunk's going to fan club and to radio presales it's probably gonna be a similar situation this time 'round.

Like a lot of other people I got a weird error after I submitted my order, but I got a confirmaiton email and the order shows up in my history.
I told myself I wasn't going to buy tickets if the only shows announced were Toronto and Chicago, because I know more a likely coming. But, when I tried just to see if I could get through, and I did, I just oculdn't restrian myself!"
-if you're one of those people that like soccer, our mls team plays at bmo field at the ex. i don't like soccer, so you'll have to find your own info. toronto fc sucks from what i hear though.
any further questions?

good call. traffic and the volume of people in the area will be much higher than normal,...
BUT, you've solved my dilemma as to what/where to eat for dinner, as i'll definitely be hitting the food building at the Ex before the PJ show!

oh, and all you americans: our legal drinking age is 19, but don't be a douche. we're peaceful up here until someone spills our beer. then IT'S ON!!!
don't forget there's no shortage of corndogs on the grounds. always keep room for corn dogs.
and tiny tom donuts.
Peace

the jays are playing the la angels (of anaheim) that weekend (saturday & sunday 1:07 pm matinees). these games are listed as premium home games. this means that tickets will be $9 in the 500s (where the rowdy fans like me are), $25 outfield 200s, $31 outfield 100s, and progressively more expensive. unless the tickets are free, i never sit anywhere but the 500s, but i won't try and push my beliefs on you. but please try and catch 'em this year, just to say you saw the 2009 world series champs play this season (yeah, i went there).
unfortunately the argos (our cfl team) are not playing that weekend, so no good ol' canadian football for y'all.
Thanks. Yeah, I've been to the Jays before, but not in a couple of years. I'm with you about them being champs! September should be fun.
