Last evening I popped into Urge Gastropub in San Diego for a little Pliny The Elder...
@ 5 pm my barkeep asked if I wanted the Younger... :o
    Yes.
And it was magnificent. :D Kicked the keg in 40 mins - on 4 oz pours...
Unreal. Slept like a hibernated bear last eve
Today Stone had it and it was kicked in 45 mins...
    All hail the Pliny!!!

Just opened a Bell's Smitten. It's tasty, and I think it would be better as a summer beer.

I also just added the highly limited O'so Bourbon Barrel Night Train and Central Waters 15 15 to the cellar!

  • So the other day I was privileged to enjoy a North Coast Bourbon Barrel Aged Old Rasputin. I couldn't find it again but I will say that the Laughing dog The Dogfather is a close enough second and I really enjoyed it. Not as much Bourbon and slightly hoppier. Not nearly as hoppy as the regular Old Rasputin.

I've still got a bottle of the 2012 BBA Old Rasputin, and it is delicious!

My fridge has actually gotten pretty well stocked these past few weeks since I have been so busy at work. A bunch of homebrew, a bunch of Ruthless Rye, a few random bottles and Yards Love Stout, Victory Twelve (never had it), Great Divide Hercules IPA and a bunch of other shit I can't remember.

Thanks! :D Honestly part of why I love it is because it's just close enough to Packers colors. If there were a bona fide Packers PJ outfit...I would probably just die

Shep - heading to the liquor store tonight, I'll pick some goods up for ya!

If it had Packer logos, I'd have bought it day one. :fp: And I'm sure I'd look ridiculous wearing it.

That's my current favorite brew right now. Along with Spaten Optimator but the only place I can get that around here is at The Rathskeller in downtown Indy.

Also if you're in the Indy area, I suggest trying the Flat 12 Half Cycle IPA

I've tried the Flat 12 Amber and the Pogue's Run Porter, haven't seen very many of their other brews at the liquor stores around here.

Believe it or not - Immort Ale is all over Texas (or at least Houston) this year... I've seen it at a bunch of grocery stores after I made a special trip down to the big liquor store to secure a 4-pack...

haven't had a beer in a couple of days now trying to battle off this flu - need to get back to drinking - my fridge is bursting at the seems!

Ok, question for you experts. This thread has inspired me to branch out and try a lot of new beers in the last few weeks. I had a Founders Oatmeal Stout last weekend and bought some Old Rasputin Russian Imperial stout. Loved both. My question is about aging. What types of beers do you age and how do age them? Do you keep them cold in the fridge or leave them at room temp? What does aging do?
