Bottle looks like this and says trappistenbier. Was the dude pulling my leg?

    It
is probably Westvelterren 8 or 12. All Belgian trappist ale comes in bottles like that apart from orval. To my knowledge westvelterren is the only monastery that doesn't label there beers with paper. It's brewed only by the monks to help pay the bills which it is so limited although once a year release doesn't sound right in my recollection. The bottle top would be blue for the 8or yellow for the 12. If it was the 12 then congratulations, it's an amazing beer. If you really enjoyed it check out St Bernardus abt 12 and read the story behind it . Almost the exact same beer in my opinion and much easier to find all over Europe. I would imagine that it's easier to get in the states too. Edit; there's also a blond withe a green cap. Anyway the bottle cap would look like this

Lots of ipa s drank yesterday.  The asbury was my fave of the four.

The Alphabet City appears to be either: really liked, really disliked or...flat out chugged like a frat boy putting an exclamation point on a can of shotgunned Keystone Light.

That's my friend, for some reason he likes to crush cans after he drinks them.  It is very odd indeed.
The asbury park was an unfiltered ipa which is now my new favorite type of beer.

How many of us that frequent the craft beer thread are going to the Wrigley and/or Fenway shows?  I ask because it would be cool to get a decent group of us to pre-game before the shows with a couple delicious brews. I’ll be at both Wrigley and both Fenway shows. Let’s make it happen.
i would be down for Fenway (but for me it would probably have to be on the 3rd though)

I'll admit, the can drew me to it too. Yep, right down the road in Minneapolis.

The label/can is legit important, especially since there are so many craft beers out there.

^ Damn, nice selection bud! And great photos. I’m familiar with a handful of those breweries but haven’t been lucky enough to sample most of them. Looking forward to it someday. I did notice Pipeworks though which I’m very familiar with. :)

So just to bring some Canadian content here.  Has anyone tried Bellwoods Brewery from Toronto?

    Image result for bellwoods brewery
If coming to Toronto their Jelly King sour beers are a must.
Last time I was in Toronto I went to steam whistle brewery and absolutely loved it. I think it was right near the baseball stadium.
Toronto has some great brewery's.  I never got into steam whistle my friends love it .  but next time you are in Toronto try both Blood brothers and  Bellwoods, Alot of great beers from them  and many more.

For any of you attending the Wrigley shows that plan to stop at Murphy’s Bleachers, here’s what you’re working with as of today...

    Nice list...the LaserSnake is fire!

I think it was somewhere in this thread, but I mentioned the same thing. I also tried to start a campaign for Murphy's to arrange to have Zombie Dust that weekend so some of the out of town craft fans can have a chance to try it on tap.

Surprised there is no Pipeworks on the menu based on their popularity and proximity.

Nice and hoppy.  Good way to start the weekend. I think pear jam modeled their European T-shirt’s after the can.

Nice! I'll be grabbing some tomorrow. How is it? I like most of Georgtown's beer, so I'm assuming it will be great.

Really simular to Mannys but toned down on bitter citrus notes.

Or you could say it's like a more malted Rogers pilsner.

That looks fantastic. Love the can and name. There are some awesome designs and names for craft brews. All the more reason I love 'em.
