Went to Greenbush (again) this weekend and decided to go a bit further into the mitten to check out a newer brewery called Transient. They have a ways to go with regards to better decor and food, but their beer is solid. Good stuff and recommended.

what does “further into the mitten” mean? :confounded:

once I know what it means, it could be an expression I would use. or not.

damn they sound pretty potent and good!  I'm gonna have to give them a try. thanks for the explanation steve and bentleypop!
any go to ones that you guys would recommend?
A lot of the "better" New England style IPAs are very regional and not getting wide distribution. In my area the beers from ODD13 in Lafayette, CO are in demand. As for an actual New England style IPA from New England I would recommend Lawson's Sip of Sunshine.

dude! I could buy a case of PBR for that...and have money left over

was in the hospital last weekend. I haven't had a beer in 11 days. I think it's time.
The older I get the more I spend on stuff that doesn't collect dust.
I go to a liquor store that just started stocking craft beer, and several cashiers have almost gone into shock
when I bring some of this stuff to the counter, so ,maybe, the prices are silly.
YEAH to being out of the hospital, and enjoy your cheap beer.
I have to take pics of what I have cellared for you.  Some goodies in there!
    Pictures!

I ate the cheese curds this weekend and wanted more before they were even gone.

I still have to get up to Kalamazoo area to soon. We keep putting it off for various stupid reasons.

I like Lawson’s Sip, but agree that Trillium’s IPAs are better. They make a ton of amazing IPAs. I would also highly rank Bissell Brothers.

It's strong alcohol content wise but I've never had a Mad Elf I've liked.  Year after year, it tastes like the puke when you throw up slightly in your own mouth and swallow it back down.  To me, anyway.

A lot of people I know swear by it, though.  Probbaly just because two or three of them will get you pretty wasted.  I think it's digusting, however..

    Pffft... Stick to an IPA.

In all seriousness I had a real beer snob say that to me years ago when I complained that a "pumpkin beer" by their favorite brewery didn't taste like pumpkin...  All spice only and no hint of pumpkin.  The brewery?  Jolly Pumpkin, lol.
