Is there anything worse than "Summer" beers?
Seems like all the breweries large and small are putting out their summer brews. They are always so disappointing...0 -

I cant stand the ones with lemon, or pine or whatever stupid flavor summer is supposed to be. I do like lighter, crip pilsners in the summer though, like a Miller or Bud Lite but good and doesnt taste like the bottle cap.Forced to endure, what I cannot forgive.0 -

I mostly agree, but the Leinenkugel Summer Shandy can be pretty refreshing.0 -

I haven't had the Shandy yet. I enjoy the Sierra Summerfest. Sierra Pale is my favorite but I don't care for it in the warmer weather.
What's everyone drinking this weekend?Alright, alright, alright!

I'd kind of argue your points...
normally I'm a big beer geek, been heavy into every IPA imaginable lately and have gone bonkers the last few months chasing down bourbon barrel aged beers.... however... now that it's summer here in Houston, and it's regularly 85 in the shade and 95+ in the sun, I find I can't enjoy these types of beers outside.
I appreciate the light, summer beers - like the pilsners, lagers, and wheats - this time of year purely for drinking outdoors on a deck... just the way it is...
I understand that they're a little light and less flavored.... but my palate just can't handle the intensity of a double IPA out in the sun...
maybe I'm weird...Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -

Not a fan either. Isnt is lemon flavored? I remember trying it when it first came out a couple years ago.
My favorites are New Glarus Totally Naked and Spotted Cow. Capital Brewery Capital Amber and they just came out with Lake House which I tried and liked as well.Forced to endure, what I cannot forgive.0 -

Good Christ mca and I agree again. I used to be a fan of the Shandy before I really started getting into craft beers. Now it tastes like someone dumped a pile of that lemon powder mix into it. i hate you...
they shipped all of 18 cases to the entire state of texas.... one of the stores in houston put it out this week (the 3 cases they had) with a 1 bottle limit, and anther store put out 12 bottles for sale, with a one bottle limit... wasn't even worth the bother to leave work and make the drive.... $6 and $7per bottle, respectively...
I'm trying to barter with someone to trade a couple of bottles for a karbach BBA hellfighter (small brewery in texas, only turnin out small batches of the stuff, but it is fucking awesome and it's already turning into a shitshow every time they release more)....
http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/26762/81986
just finishing up a Karbach El Hopadillo Negro.... i have determined that I just don't get Black IPAs.... something about the combination of so many flavors doesn't mesh right on my palate.... this will probably be the last Black IPA for quite some time....Houston, Texas... Leinenkugel. Tasty.
Gotta love Shiner...
Not a fan of many of New Belgium's summer brews but the newest one is a keeper: http://www.newbelgium.com/beer/detail.a ... 82b7cd918a
