Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

Not necessarily. It wouldn't surprise me if Philly is a one-off in 2009 for the northeast, a special show(s) because of the Spectrum closing down.

I think the vast majority of fans who've attended the Camden shows would say they had a blast.

But a Philly proper show would be real cool as well...

I know, I have been to most of the shows there - the camden comment was meant as sarcasm. It is a Beautiful city ;) I used to have a fun interactive map where you could pull up all the homicides there. I grew up in Jersey. I am hoping for spectrum shows as well.

ANYthing is possible at this point......... :P
seriously tho, we have mike saying a 'little thing in the states'....jeff saying more europe.....ed saying no shows in 2010.....but cmon, they are putting out a NEW ALBUM! there MUST be a good # of shows in support of that, no? i just can't imagine it. so i am thinking/hoping......4 shows europe, august.......SF.....west coast, september.....ACL ......east coast/south, october...........and then.....wherever outside the US they're thinking. personally, i'd have thought SA or oz, due to weather, but perhaps it will be europe, who knows? so i still am thinking a good # of shows 2009 and very early 2010......then a long break spring/summer......perhaps pick it up again late 2010.

Could be... but with the expense to ship their gear, have Rock It Cargo handle it and get it on trucks and to a venue... to hit a number of stops while they're at it seems more logical. But if they just HAVE to play the venue before it's gone, then they may just pay the price, or simply have local sound instead of Rat sound, and local lights instead of their tour lighting company. PJ just always seems to use specific companies for their productions, and it seems it would be a lot of effort to get all their band gear and tour gear for one gig. Then again, they did Borgata and the arena as just 3 shows, so who knows. :)

There was a parking spot right outside of the fenced "paid" parking. Right next to a bar or small restaurant or something. I asked the cop who was watching the crowd if I could park there and this is his response, almost verbatim:

Me: "That sign says it's ok to park there, is that right?"
Cop: "Do you know where you are? Do YOU know where YOU ARE?!?"
    Me: "um..."
Cop: "You are in the CRIME CAPITOL of the United States!"
Me: "oh, I'll go move my..."
Cop: "Oh you can leave your car there. Don't let me change your mind. I just can't guarantee it'll be there when you get back".

If this is how their policemen describe their OWN city, that's a strong indication that it's not the best neighborhood. ...plus with all the scrap iron yards every-other block, it looked too much like the Terminator movie in real life.

The last thing I heard was September, but there was recently talk of pushing that back a bit. I'd guess October/November.

There was talk about waiting till NYE and do the demo then... but most likely late fall/early winter. They cut the ice up yesterday and I'm sure it will take a few months to prep the building for final demo.

I believe PJ will tour the US in between August and October (duh), maybe even through Nov.
They are not going to do those festivals without other US dates, count on it (the record will be out by then me thinks), there is no question that will include Boston and Philadelphia, and two nights at the spectrum in September sounds just about right

of course this is just masturbatory speculation

and I really hope they play stubbs at ACL!

the only thing about this that it would possibly be the only stop in the region meaning all fans from NY, DC, MA etc will be trying for tickets and would be almost impossible to get anything... I highly doubt PJ will play in the Philyl area again this year anyway. The south and west are overdue before philly.

I'll never see a show at the Susquehanna Bank center again.

Night 1 we parked, and it took up 3 hours to get out of our parking space. Not the lot....just the parking space. It took another few to get back to the hotel.

Then next night, we decided it wasnt worth it to bring the car to that hellhole, so we took the ferry. they had ONE ferry for the entire population. It took us the same amount of time to get back to the hotel.

It was such a post-concert buzzkill, I will never go there again.

    rant over.

My wish is that PJ plays the Electric Factory...I would probably never go see another show after that because nothing else would compare. It is perhaps the best place to see a show in the greater Philly-NJ region.

That would be sweet if they snuck in at least one Boston show. Otherwise everyone who lives in New England and New York and New Jersey are going to be trying for those Philly tickets and it will sell out super fast.

one of my very close girlfriends worked for the Flyers/Phantoms up until 3 weeks ago..I talked to her last night and she said they've been talking about shows for Pearl Jam at the spectrum for close to 4 months now. Apparently the venue is desperately trying to get as much money out of the old building as possible before slamming the door. They asked U2, Bruce, PJ, Bob Dylan, The Dead, Billy Joel, all the old acts that played there so many times. Some bit some didnt. She said U2 was trying to fit it in but their promo tour didnt allow it. It was never going to be able to happen on their world tour. It was going to be a stop on the promo circuit a few weeks ago. Bruce is playing it, The Dead are, so lets hope PJ does it
