Well think twice about renting a car, it might be a little crowded on the day of the gig... after all the venue is only 20 mins by bus or train from Alexanderplatz! As you say, it is a very easy city to get around!

not for the show, i realise! The Wuhlheide is a very easy place to get to on the train! Ive been to Berlin before, and didnt bother seeing as much of the city as i wanted to, so i meant for my day or two of rambling around, a car would / could be useful!

ah well that's true! last time I was in Berlin we got a car for a couple of days and drove down to Prague and I remember the countryside was beautiful!
This time I'm staying only four days, just for the gig and one or two days to enjoy the town.
    Can't wait... :-)

Count me in, Berlin crew! Woohoow!

  • This is going to be great!! :D Just listening to the 2006 Berlin bootleg. I'm hoping they will do bootlegs for this. 3 of the 5 times I have seen them during 2006-2007 have no official bootlegs for me to reminisce to.

Out of interest, does anyone know if you are aloud to drink on the trains in Berlin? ;)

You have to be a ten club member since 26th of April to be allowed to buy ten club tix for the Euro tour. But I'm sure anyone here will have a spare for you. ;)

Yes and no ... indeed you are allowed to drink alcohol in the public and in trains/buses ... but if you act like a fool because you are drunk, the train operators/bus drivers have the right to kick you out of the train/bus. That's why you shouldn't overdo it guys! :D

i hope that i will get a spare ticket, cause i cant wait til the 9th and get a normal ticket...
i know the thing about being a member since.. but i can put them in the cart and even coninue the order....
i am german and i was in many huge german cities, never had a problem with alcohol in public....

BUT BE CAREFUL WITH DRINKING TO MUCH BEFORE; THE SECURITY PEOPLE AT THE ENTRANCE DONT LIKE DRUNK...

    ahhahh

Something I wanted to ask... there is always a "pit" on the floor on PJ gigs... will there be a pit in the venue to separate us 10Cs from the rest of the GAs too? Was there a pit in 2006?

Yes, there was a pit in 2006. but i think ppl had to be there early to get special wristbands for the pit. We also had 10c tickets but got there later and didnt get into the pit... I hope they do the same this year.
Oh, and no, i dont think theres always a pit. Berlin had one for sure, some other venues maybe, but not all of them.

well there's no pit in festivals, as we all sadly know.

but all the shows I have been so far had a pit, tho I don't remember if in Barcelona 2006 there was one... in Verona in 2000 we even had seats on the floor! ridiculous... and in Dublin 2006 two friends of mine "bribed" their way into the pit by giving a joint to some security guy... crazy!

some festivals have pits, not all though. Hurricane 07 had a pit. Werchter has an "open-ended" barrier area, kinda like a tree-branch coming out from the stage. Either way, Berlin had a pit, and 10C members had first access to it.

oh I thought there was no pit in festivals, I've been to a few and never been one...

But I like to know there is a pit in Berlin, safety first and then some kind of "seniority" separation between us 10C and the rest of the GA's... eheh ;)

Yeah, at the Wuhlheide it works well for 10C members! i had a GA ticket last time - and was at the front of that queue, but the 10c people pretty much got the whole pit to themselves! Thats what i expect this time!

Received the confirmation email today and it says this...

"There will be a special Ten Club entry procedure for this show. There will not be a special reserved fan club section inside the venue. More detailed information on this entry procedure will be emailed to you closer to the show date."

Anyone here go to the Berlin show in 2006? Can you shed light on this? I know it says more detailed information to come but my wife and I are flying in from California so we're hoping the "seats" will be worth it. Is Berlin general admission and 10c are simply let in first to scramble for a good spot?

Thanks in advance and hope to see some of you there.

Yes, it's GA and 10c ticket holders get in for an early scramble.

As far as I understood only us 10C are let in 15mins earlier, and then the rest of the GA's, so altho there's no "special reserved fan club section", we still get to be in first and get front rows before everybody else.
    That's why we're 10C, right? ;)

The venue is out in Woop Woop. Much better off basing yourself a bit more in the middle. One of the bunch I band with are hanging tight in Mitte.

Kreutzberg nice place to stay, old East Berlin. Mitte pretty central and modern, plenty of places to stay ;)
