I don't know why people are so surprised that there are only 4 gigs, they only played the astoria the last time
In my mind this is a pre-album mini tour. I think that they had a window of dates that they could play and this dictated locations and venues for the tour. As Stone said the album is "due" in sept so I think we'll be treated to some new live material and then 2010/11 there will be a full world tour....and Ireland will get its gig

NICE!
berlin and rotterdam are slightly tempting, especially berlin...but the timing, mid-august, just cannot work for me......and most definitely not hubby. no way would i go to berlin w/o him. seeing pj in europe in 2006 and 2007 also make it a wee bit easier to take a pass this time around. going to hope they make their way semi-close to my neck of the woods after september 15th and i will be one happy camper.
ENJOY, europeans!
and everyone else who decides to skip across the pond for some shows!
I find the ticket policy a bit strict, dont you agree? I mean, if I was to get sick I cannot transfer the tickets over to another ten c member. No selling or exchanging either, which makes me 100% stuck with the tickets I buy. This makes me think they are more than happy to sell these tickets, but want nothing more to do with them. Especially considering how helpful they have been with ticket transfers in previous tours. It worked great and it helped out alot of people. Why take this option away...? Makes little sense to me.

Me. I just bought tickets for the whole mini tour.
Btw I agree with the pre-album tour theory. I'm not so surprised by the fact that there are only four shows.
And hopefully we're going to hear some new songs...

"Pearl Jam are coming to the UK (as well as Germany and Holland)... <snip> Pearl Jam are planning to come back and do a full tour in late autumn/early winter, following the release of a new album, but these shows are still going to be awesome"
Normally you can resell tickets to other 10c members at face value. Suprised if they have changed their policy.
Anway just got tickets to London and Manchester. Opted for seats as I couldn't be bothered queueing all day again, especially with no early entry for 10c. Happy to enjoy the view from the best seats in the house instead.
So much easier than previous 10c presales. Maybe this is PJ making up for the Ten Reissue debacle for Europeans . . . an extra £60 for the chance of getting a signed copy was a bit steep.
Looks like this is just a short album promo tour before a major European tour later in the year. No idea where this site got this information from, but it sounds good to me.

Im I way off here?
you're way off.
seriously, the *policy* was ALWAYS meant to be no refunds/transfers/exchanges.....and yes, they were lenient with it for a long while. couple tours ago they cracked down and stopped doing it, and really.....that's how the policy has been and so they should stick to it. bottomline, NO one should buy 10c tix unless they are absolutely sure they want to, and can, go to the show. sure, obviously sometimes life gets in the way, things happen.....but that could happen last minute with any tix and basically you'd be SOL. it's all buyer beware. i personally don't have a problem with it, think it's pretty fair overall.....and it's a lot of extra work for 10c to handle changes and the like.
"Pearl Jam have announced a short European tour for this Summer.
Four dates have been announced for August, including Manchester and London, with a full-scale 2009 tour expected following the release of the band's new album in Autumn."
Uncut are also reporting a return later in the year . . . must have been part of the press release. Bring on the full tour!
The headline gigs start in Rotterdam on August 13, followed by Berlin (15)Manchester (17) before ending at London's O2 Arena on August 18 . . . These new dates are Pearl Jam's first in two years, although they anticipate returning to Europe around the release of their next studio album, possibly in Autumn.

gotta love Google alerts.
that is just so bizarre.
couple shows in europe in august.,.....and then go back 2 months later? :? seems odd choices for touring schedule. sure seems like a LOT is happening in autumn for pearl jam. :P they DO realize autumn is only about 4 months i hope......;) haha. well officially september 21st thru december 21st.....so who knows? oz may get some shows this year yet! that may be the only place outside of home that would tempt me enough this year, tho personally, i'd prefer 2010.....
Europe may be getting to hear all the new material first, not bad for them.
that's what i'm thinking!
b/c otherwise, bit bizarre to hit em up, now 3x, all on the same material. a see a few new songs debuting to the live mix and one/all of these 4 euro-shows.
it all seems a bit strange, 4 shows in europe....then back to the US for SF and ACL, one would guess at least a couple shows inbetween.....and then back to europe late autumn-early december? i wonder who plans this all out.....

I told them: 'Look guys... you're coming here in the UK when I am in Italy on a family holiday - that will not do. You MUST come back before X-mas so I can get my lil' fix too.' They said: 'OK darlin' - anything you want. We'll come back before the end of the year.'
