The Hampton Inn dowtown just dropped their price to $129. The place is supposed to be brand new and about 2 blocks from the Palace Theater. Yesterday when I checked the price was $189. I just booked it, and it comes to $143 with taxes. You do have to pay $12.50 for parking.

I believe it is the swine flu discount.

crowne plaza.. how much is that a night? close to the venue?

I think it's like $170 a night....but worth it...it is within walking distance from the venue....I have to check into this further though...
Hampton Inn is closer (directly in between) Palace and Jillians.... but more expensive.
Crown Plaza is a nice hotel for $170 and not really that far away.

Check out this map. It has all 4 locations on it.

edit: i added Wolfs Biergarten to the map for reference.

Can I add a point to the map!!!!! Its my house its right across the street!

I just tried, cheapest price was $177, so fuck that! Like over $500 for a bed for 3 nights! I'm look for something less expensive!

For some reason the night of the 7th is dirt cheap ($67), the 8th is $129 and the 9th is $169, but when you try for all 3 nights they charge you $177 per night.

It looks like the only rooms they have available for all 3 nights are suites, but you can get a regular room if you book a single night. My wife and I are only staying 1 night, that must be how we got the $129 price. Sorry if my earlier post instilled a false hope in finding a cheap hotel close to the venue.

All, I put a call into the Hampton to see what rate we could get for booking a block of rooms. I would need some serious commitment from people to do this. The sales people haven't called me back, but the front desk said it would need to be 10 rooms minimum. I don't know if that's 10 rooms, or 10 room nights (3 rooms 3 nights = 9 room nights etc., hopefully sales can strike up a deal with me/us.)

anyone that has a hotel booked, but would be willing to cancel to help get us a better rate (even you for the one night Gremmie) that would be great.

Basically, if we could compile a list of who needs a hotel for how many nights, and your max price you're willing to pay, that would be best (do it via PM to me if you'd rather not broadcast everything). If we can't reach the price point for everyone, then, I'll say I tried. I can tell you now, some people will be willing to drive 10 minutes to save $10, some won't, so this is probably going to be a futile effort. I'm not sure why i just signed up to do this...

nice idea OFED, put me down on there. Cheapest I found was Holiday Inn, $120 a night, its 0.6 miles from the venue.
If you can get a rate of say $130 Im sure that would be attractive.. otherwise most are happy doing there own thing.. How much is it to sleep on your dining room table for 3 nights :D

    LOL.

Prices for staying at my place, on the kitchen table (including the designated driver service I will provide, because I'm not drinking more than a beer... 2 max... each night) are:

    1) for anyone from the UK who's name starts with a C: $132,344.56 per night, breakfast not included.
    2) for funnygirl and guest: $0.27 (total)
    3) all others: $199.95 / night which includes my world famous fried egg sandwich on a toasted honey wheat bagel (w/ or w/o cheese) for breakfast... which can/will be served in bed, since you'll be sleeping on the table.

FG: (yeah, I know you're married, it's just a joke).
