I was thinking about taking an empty booklet kinda thing and getting people to sign it & write a few things.. and then once I get home.. stick all the photos I take in there.. so I would have a memory of the trip :)

oh and for the record.. I want everyone to know my name is not Cay-lum, its Cal-um. clear? :)

nice idea OFED, put me down on there. Cheapest I found was Holiday Inn, $120 a night, its 0.6 miles from the venue.
If you can get a rate of say $130 Im sure that would be attractive.. otherwise most are happy doing there own thing.. How much is it to sleep on your dining room table for 3 nights :D
    LOL.

Prices for staying at my place, on the kitchen table (including the designated driver service I will provide, because I'm not drinking more than a beer... 2 max... each night) are:

    1) for anyone from the UK who's name starts with a C: $132,344.56 per night, breakfast not included.
    2) for funnygirl and guest: $0.27 (total)
    3) all others: $199.95 / night which includes my world famous fried egg sandwich on a toasted honey wheat bagel (w/ or w/o cheese) for breakfast... which can/will be served in bed, since you'll be sleeping on the table.

FG: (yeah, I know you're married, it's just a joke).

OMG You guys are crazy! I don't check this thing for one day and look what has gone on! LOL
wow $0.27 for two nights! Awesome! I might have to take you up on your offer!

The chances of a sunny day in Albany I'd say are aorund 50/50.

Don't get oyur hopes up about the Hudson. It's not very impressive near Albany. It's actually kinda nasty.

Just FYI, I forgot to mention the fine print on your package. The world famous breakfast will cost you $100/day and it's mandatory with your $0.27 "package" deal. I will also provide clean towels, but you'll have to shower at my neighbors place... and his hot water heater is broken. I'm not made of money. My kids need food/clothing/gold plated toys etc.

    HOTEL UPDATE:

For anyone waiting to see what kind of deal I could strike up with the Hampton... the answer is... NONE. They came back with a group rate of $199!!!! Basically, my thoughts were confirmed in that they're a business traveller's hotel and they're usually booked Mon-Thurs. (that's why someone said they had a sweet rate of like $79 or something on the Sunday night, that place is a ghost town on the weekends). The lady told me they're almost sold out anyway for that week (thus almost no incentive to give a discount)... I wonder how many people booked already, but for the same purpose (i.e., EV show)? Woulda been cool to be more organized on this one. Oh well.

I'll try to get a message out directly to the people that PM'd me.

We could try doing the same with the Holiday Inn Express or someplace else. HI Express is $122 online now, and you could easily take a taxi to and from the venue for both nights, and still come out ahead of the hampton or the crown plaza. Another friendly reminder that I would not walk from the Palace to the HI Express past 12 or 1 am, alone. In a group of 3 or more would be fine (i would think).

There's plenty of other hotels ~4-6 miles away for much less money.

    I'm sorry, but I tried.

I just say find 4 ppl that all want to crash and book one room and have 4 ppl crashing there...then the 200$ a night is only 50$ a person...or for both nights comes out to 100$..one night 2 ppl get the floor and the other night they get the bed...ive done that before and works out great...esp if ya gonna be hanging out after the show...how much time will ya be spending in the hotel ? sleep and a shower and maybe an afternoon nap?

hey thanks for trying, yeah holiday inn would be cool, but i'd get a taxi back after the show..

I'm tempted to go a few miles from the palace, 4-6 miles & the room are like $65 a night..... alot better. I would gladly slowly walk to the show in the daytime.. and just get a taxi back after the show...
