Ok it's time I started checking out this thread:

Phantom Pain I love your avatar! I am sooo sick of NHL promoting Sid the Kid. I have no reason to hate the guy as much as I do except for the fact the NHL forces him down our throats. He's good but there are a lot of good, young, quality players. I believe the Wings won the cup last year but they always show the Penguins/Sid scoring on the Wings :) Why not showcase all the NHL and let fans decide who they like? Last time the Wings played on NBC against the Penguins, which the Wings won, Zetterberg was asked by Pierre McGuire what it was like to play against Sid - F***ing ask Sid what it's like to play against Hank and Pavel!

What's with the garbage throwing? Canadian fans should be ashamed. I hate them (Bruins/Wings lifetime fan) but I even felt bad for the players. I hope they chase Price out of there and get a real shit goalie, they'd deserve it. And to throw garbage on the ice? WTF. If I were Koivu I would have stayed out there and picked up the garbage. That's the players home away from home and you don't disrespect it like that! NO class so called Canadian fans. It's not like they were going to beat the Bruins anyways..... I hope this is the start of the Canadians SUCKING for the next decade :)

Detroit vs Boston in the finals would be a dream come true for this fan!

That's who I predicted to be in the Finals for the Cup however even better would be the BRUINS vs the Blackhawks. The second best looking jersey in hockey behind the B's of course. :)

  • glad to see this thread is really active, just in case anyone doesn't know I have been updating the series as they go in the first post, so you can check on what is happening there, all in one spot for your convenience also the league leaders but they change so much it is hard to update in the first round.

Got tickets to home game 3 round 2 today, will be game 5 if we face the hawks or flames or game 6 if we face the wings!

Just wondering... while the NHL Playoffs are still going on, do you guys also care about the Hockey World Championship?

The WHC doesn't get much coverage or notariety in North America. Nobody really gets too excited about it here unless there is a major upset.

Went to Game 6 of Canes/Devils last night. Jersey is starting to wear down. Brodeur has seen 80+ shots in the last 2 games. Hopefully that trend continues tomorrow night. We were sitting a few feet from Lou Lamoriello. He didn't look too happy.

A little PJ mention today while I was listening to the NHL Home Ice Network on XM. They were interviewing actor John C. McGinley who is a big hockey fan and a neighbor/friend of Chris Chelios. They asked him about other celebrities that he knows who are hockey fans. He mentioned that Ed is a big hockey fan and always wants to talk hockey when they see him.

Kudos to Carolina fans for making that arena extremely loud during the playoffs, it's always a great atmosphere to watch a game in the playoffs with Carolina at home.

Also, those Carolina ice-girls  awooogha

Nothing better than a Game 7 and we get 2 tonight! Only I don't have the NHL package which means I'll only see 1 :(

Ducks have one good line and just finished playing six games of physically grueling hockey.
The Wings are healthy and well-rested. I'm not worried about the Ducks. Especially since now the Wings have home ice through the conference finals.

I'll be honest, I don't have a care who wins tonight from the angle of being a Bruins fan ... but, please, for the love of god ... either the Rangers or Devils need to win ...

I just don't think I could deal with all the Ovechkin v Crosby hype that we'd be buried in if the Caps and Canes win tonight.

And, you know you'd NEVER be able to find a Bruins vs Canes game on TV either.

due to contractual obligations, the NHL can suck my sack.

How the fuck can you promote the league by NOT allowing coverage of a game 7 still in action???

indeed, the viewing public didn't need to see Carolina score two goals in the last minute and a half to win the series ... seriously, the NHL missed the boat on this one.

And ... my worst fear realized ... Pens v Caps ... Ovechkin v Crosby ... which means it'll be easier to find Australian rules football on TV than a Bruins v Canes game ... grumble.

It will be easier than it was for this round. All games will still be televised and should be stacked where the 2 East and West series don't conflict with one another.

I'm speechless after watching my Canes. What a finish! Something about playing the Devils in the playoffs. We have had some incredible finishes against them over the last couple years. Speaking about finish.........how about Jusi freakin Jokinen? Wow!

Great pair of game sevens tonight.

I got the Canes going all the way to the Cup Finals in my office pool. Unfortunately I have them losing to San Jose in said final.

The Ducks and the Wings are the only 2 series that I missed on in the first round thanks to those great game tonight.

Nope. I can garauntee that games 3 and 4 will be on VS. and will BOTH be the Caps and Pens ... thus, this west coast B's fan is shut out.

EDIT - to prove my point, the name of the article is called "Conference semifinals feature Crosby vs. Ovechkin"

    Great games tonight....

As a Pens fan I am looking forward to the Pens/Caps series because it should be good, fast, physical hockey... but I am dreading the over-hyping that the league/NBC/Versus will do.

All 4 series should be REALLY good...

that was crazy tonight in Jersey, never seen anything quite like that....the second round of these playoffs could go many ways, tough to pick who will prevail in a couple of the series'.

I was at the Phillies game and missed both game 7's !

I was happy to see the Devils gone..kind of indifferent about the Caps

I will be pulling for the Caps against the Ice Chickens
