I'm sitting this out for a few reasons, one is the economy has hit me a little money-wise/work-wise and my recovery is starting next week. But to recoup the lost money from the last few months, shelling out for a trip out of town doesn't seem sensible right now even if the nearest show is in Philadelphia. But if you can get the tickets, you will have a good time. I got shut out of buying last year for a New York show but wound up going at the last minute and had a blast. In another words, to sum up, if you can go, it's recommended, you won't be disappointed.

I'm sitting this one out. I went to the Newark show last year. I think it'd be very hard to top that one. But, more practically getting down to Philly, Baltimore, or up to Albany aren't really feasible for me for those dates. If he was playing NYC metro again, I'd definitely try to get tix.

To all who are going, have a great time and don't miss Liam Finn!

I saw Ed in Milwaukee last year, and I would love to see him again. I'm originally from Nashville, and I think the Ryman show will be amazing. But my wife and I are closing on a house in a few weeks, which means less disposable income. I am saving my cash in the hopes of a full PJ tour, with the hopes of catching multiple shows. So yes, I am sitting this one out...sadly

If the Albany shows fell on a weekend, I'd make the +/- 3 hour drive up there. Unfortunately, I am going to be on the sidelines for this solo tour. Unless, of course, Eddie decides to perform a warm up show in Providence. 8-)

Everyone that has a chance to go to one of Eddie's solo shows should definitely do so. It is a great experience. Have fun!

I saw Ed in Milwaukee last year. It was an amazing experience, and it was a very different show, but I just can't justify it this time. The only one I could drive to would be 10 hrs. away in Nashville. As much as I'd like to see Ed again, spending $400 getting to one show could be applied to 2 Midwest shows if the full band tours this fall. Still wish I could go though.

as much as I would like to go again (saw him in Boston last year), I just spent $130 on the TEN re-release, $130 on new Rock Band drums, more money on the RB Ten songs, $450 on a timing belt/water pump, $2700 on my sons braces, and guinness is up to 14.99 for 8 cans.....glad I quit smoking 8 years ago

I saw Ed last year, nyc 1 and Newark. NJ he was on fire and I can live happily with that memory. I am however going for the Friday in Philly because I am on vacation that week and coming home from Seattle the day before. If I don't get tickets I won't be heartbroken, anyone who missed out last time should have a chance to go. He really is a magical performer.
See, I want to go, I had a great time, I walked out of NJPAC with my face blown off....and all I really want to do is share the love. But still put my bid in for tickets ;)

After saying all that, I never win any kind of lottery from 10 club, so I am assuming I'm not going!
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

Due to financial constraints and family, I too, will be missing this summer's solo tour. I consider myself very lucky to have had the opportunity to attend Ed's show in Newark, it was so completely entertaining. The performance was incredible and his story telling ...what a blast. It was his spitting on stage that really bugged my husband, who was sweet enough to take me for my birthday.
So, I'll wait for the vids on youtube and live the night vicariously through them, with a bottle of wine...

I will be skipping this time around. Chicago night 1 was incredible, and I just don't think he's coming around close enough to Cincinnati to go this time. To treat myself for not being able to go, I just scored the Massey Hall show on 8/13. That kind of makes up for not going again, doesn't it?

The spitting on the stage was quite a surprise to me as well - especially at Massey Hall, no less :o

Some of you are just nuts. The EV's shows I saw last year were among the best shows I've ever seen (including PJ). I mean the main reason I love PJ is Ed's voice, and to witness is voice in a small venue with no other noise is pure greatness. I am hoping to catch him solo one last time, as this could very well be the last time I have the oppportunity.

For those you say "I'm waiting for a real tour" I think you're underestimating how good Ed is solo.

it's not nuts... it's just a preference. some like the band for ed's voice, some like the band for mike's guitar, some like the band for matt's drums... some like the whole package. it's all just a preference.
