Not to be oversensitive, but as a native, I have to mention that it's Upper Darby, not Philly.

    I'm just saying*.

*I'm just hoping that living here acts as a good luck charm and I get tickets. :)

For God's sake, everyone and their mother refers to the CAMDEN shows as Philly. Upper Darby is more Philly than Camden is. You miss out on being Philly because of a Creek. :)
I mean, seriously, what the hell is this?

You have to watch with SEPTA.... they operate bus service from 69th street after midnight... so you might be stuck on a slow bus back into the city if the show gets over that late.

I saw Townshend there a while back, you can drive and get there fairly quickly, just shoot down Walnut street and switch to Market when you get closer to 69th street. There is also an underground parking area. If I remember correctly.

I'm not a fan of the El at that time of night.
Don't come closer or I'll have to go

Is there any sort of actual schedule with this? Is it truly every weekend, until the end of time? Or just every weekend until they fix whatever they're doing (I think I read something about making the stations ADA compliant, which is insane that it's taken this long for something like that to happen!!)?
For the past few weeks, I've seen that it's 8pm on Friday through to Sunday night that it's closed, but I didn't know if this was the norm.
The one time we tried taking the El, to see Jon Stewart last year, we didn't know about the night closures, and were blindsided by the "shuttle" bus. It freaked us the HELL out! I mean, I felt fairly safe, but still. It sucked. Then, the bus dropped us at the 36th station, which was closed, and we had to walk to 30th. At least there were a few dozen of us. Safety in numbers!

they've been working on that section of the El for years now, the only way to truly know what their plans are is to contact Septa directly . . . and good luck with that

Actually SEPTA usually runs shuttle buses on the El between the hours of midnight and 5AM every day....

    Riiight. lol
And it seems the website only updates a week or so in advance. So we'd have to wait until the first week of June to even know if it's open or closed. But we can probably count on open for Thursday and closed for Friday.

They do, and I believe the end of the line for the bus is 40th, which means most people will have to get to 30th first, before we can take any regional transit back home. It's just not worth the mess to me.
Anyone within the city, or staying at a hotel, can have fun on that shuttle!
