happy anniversary diehard Mets Fans .
Tonight should be nice out at the new Citifield.
Svoboda was all over the news this morning,
replaying " the catch " he made in the 69 series.

its always nice to see the Mets surprise us all sometimes,
and as a result set Phillies fans in their place .
Sometimes it all goes to their cocky little heads !

    :p

    jk--
    enjoy the game.

in our place? haha...our place is 19 games over 500 and about 12 ahead of you guys. 162 game season. you're gonna lose to a bad team at least 30 some times.

    congrats on the anniversary though.

Fun fact for the day. The 69 mets went on to go 82-36 after game 42. Heard that on the fan. Enjoy this night fellow met fans.

Hamels has a bad case of The Verducci Effect, jumping so many innings pitched from 07 to 08. Same as Pelfrey. And look at Edinson Volquez. That's why no matter how silly the Joba thing seems, I'm glad they're keeping his IP under control, and not going from 110 last year to 210 in 09

yup. i am concerned about him. but the good thing for us is our rotation is so fucking good right now, he's our 4th best pitcher.

lee and happ have been virtually unhittable. and blaton has been light's out since june.

i'm hoping hamels turns it around in september when things start heating up. he's just coasted through this season unfortunately. people seem to forget that he's just 25. i think he's still got a bright future.

Good point. I remember Pelfrey even struggled in September because the Mets needed him to go past his innings limit to stay in the race last year.

Anybody got a rope so I can hang myself on the brooklyn bridge. Better yet ill jump into the hudson river and mutate into a rays fan or some other team. This season is like getting stabbed in the heart over and over and over. I swear this team finds new ways to lose a game.

Nah, a bunch of millionaires and six figure triple A players attempting to play a kids game isn't worth resorting to that. I think the team is just cursed in some way.

Are Philly fans really gloating about beating a team that has been decimated by injury like no other in history, whose only every day player left standing (watch the stairs) is Luis Castillo, who subsequently is the team's MVP..lol....and still somehow the fighting Phills managed to lose Friday and just barely escaped yesterday with a freak play after being handed a six run lead....have fun knocking around Parnell this afternoon..

Apparently Jeff Francouer is in the hospital for injuring his thumb.

Someone on the Mets got hurt, go figure.

Unbelievable, just when you think it can't get any worse something happens..I accepted Delgado and Reyes being out for the season, which was obviously bad enough..but then the infamous dropped pop-up, Beltran going down, Maine's arm falling off, possible career ending hit to wright's head, Niese collapsing on the mound, castillo falling down the stairs, Omar disaster, triple play to end a game...etc..

Francouer was brought in due to his durability..I don't think the guy has ever missed a game because of an injury..welcome to the Mets...

Its been quite the season. You also forgot though, Schneider's stint on the DL, Putz pretty much having season ending surgery, Wag's being out for almost the entire season, Ollie's stint on the DL (although that was pretty much preferable to him actually pitching), Pagan's time on the DL, and Sheffield's time on the DL. Anyone else that we're forgetting now?

This season has been a very cruel joke.
