Maybe they'll be headlining the Virgin Festival over Labour Day Weekend this year. I remember at Eddie's Massey Hall gig, he talked about visiting the islands during his stay in Toronto. That being said, I'd rather see them at the ACC or at the Amphitheatre on their own tour. Not at a crappy Canadian festival, where they stick you in a Beer tent 200 metres away from the stage.
oh this would be sweet sweet sweet. I loved the '03 show. What a great day it was (albeit almost fried in the sun waiting for the tix!). I'm pretty sure it went past 11pm though...they pushed it a bit...cause there was that fireworks show...and they waited a bit to start i think...waiting for pj to finish...then they just started anyway..and it coincided with baba o'riley and it was magical, lol.
but i'll be perfectly fine if they start at 5pm this time (and still finish at 11pm). Sept weather will still be ok. Especially since it's a rock concert!
woo. excited, cautiously.

Pearl Jam starts at 5pm, show ends at 11pm? 6 hours of LIVE Pearl Jam passion!
oh mama!!!!!
the Amphitheatre sucks...getting there is somewhat a pain in the ass on the TTC and the sound isn't as good as the ACC (especially if you're in the 400's or lawn) and the 11pm curfew is also a major drawback (and the reason for the abrupt ending of the 2003 show)....
Agree on all accounts. Getting OUT of the parking lot after the show is a nightmare too. As I said in another thread, in 2003 the Toronto show ended at 11:00 pm and the Buffalo show ended at 12:00. I got home faster after the Buffalo show and had an extra hour to drive home.
The Ampitheatre sucks. Big time.
i have a secret FREE parking spot a mere 10 minute walk away from the venue i utilize every time i attend a show at the Amphitheatre, it couldn't be more convenient and there's no absolutely no traffic as i drive away,...

basically it's a good venue but poorly accessible by car or public transit (well, takes forever to leave at the end anyway), and september will still be warm...and even if on the cool side, it's a rock concert so as long as your bee-bopping up and down everyone should be all good! i personally prefer it just cause it's outside. I assume it's like most other amphitheatres though.

Sorry, I wouldn't think so...I think this is strictly eV - maybe ACL...PJ tour in Sept seems a bit far off. I guess the more notice the better though - maybe they are being responsive to previous complaints about taking too long to announce things.

I still have yet to see pearl jam live. The countless DVDs and Youtube videos are getting old. its about time i see the real thing. Better see these guys in Toronto
I'm very skeptical about the toronto philly show rumors. They don't add up because Mike stated that they would begin a "little thing in mid September". Jeff also stated a while back about doing "shows in the south and places they haven't been in a while". This sounds more like a tour similar to last years only on the opposite coast probably consisting of 12 to 15 shows. Take into account we know they will be in Austin in early October. Also it sounds like they will be in Salt Lake City Sept. 28th. The routing just doesn't add up for Toronto and Philly!!! My bet is on shows in Seattle, California, Arizona, Vegas, SLC, and Texas. This would also explain why Ed isn't doing any solo shows in these areas as well.

While I agree with your logic, take this for what it's worth: The same guy who was my source about Ed at the Tower (a week and a half ago, 2 days before the Baltimore shows ended up leaked on TM), says that the band is "in talks" with the Spectrum for the Fall. Nothing set, no dates, just "in talks."

His logic is pretty good, but where there is smoke there is usually fire. The Philly and Toronto rumours have both come from multiple sources.
I can see them playing more like 20-25 shows starting towards the end of August and ending mid October. Start in Toronto (maybe just like the last album the band wants to kick the tour off in Toronto), work down towards Philly, hitting the major stops in the mid west and/or North east along the way, then working towards ACL in October before ending things off on the west coast.
Something like this:
Toronto
Detroit
Pittsburgh
Saratoga Springs
Montreal
Boston
Boston
NYC
NYC
Philly
Philly
Charlotte
Atlanta
Nashville
St. Louis
Denver
Salt Lake City
Phoenix
Austin (ACL)
New Orleans
San Diego
Vegas
LA
Santa Barbara
San Francisco
Seattle
Seattle
Missoula
That's 28 shows. Maybe a few too many. Maybe they actually skip Boston or NYC this time. Maybe they won't hit places like Vegas or SB this time around. Who knows. But what I listed above is 28 shows and couple be done in 45 days or so. So even if they start in Toronto on Sept 1 they could easily be done by around Oct 15th to 20th. That's no huge tour by any stretch but it would manage to involve all of the rumoured cities/regions while still qualifying as a small tour.
So it is possible, very possible, that they could pull this off, especially if you scale down my list by 5 or 6 shows.
