Pearl Jam in Toronto Fall '09

edited April 2009 in The Porch
A friend of mine works for Live Nation in Toronto and he told me that there is definitely something cooking up about a PJ show at the Molson Amphitheater in September. His exact quote was: "There's a couple of bands coming that you like; Pearl Jam AND Aerosmith."

... I guess he's not as good of a friend as I had thought. But still good news for all the big Aerosmith fans out there!

I know this has already been mentioned in previous threads, so there's definitely lots of smoke around Toronto... Yahoo for East Coast!

Obviously there is something in the works; it looks like it could be a busy sept with them all over. Utah at the end; toronto; austin. All over the country in one month seems a big suspicious though.

    *Public Service Announcement*

If/when Pearl Jam tours Canada this fall, remember anyone heading to Canada from the USA as of June 1st this years NEEDS to have a passport.

For the boys sake, let's hope its early Sept., Ampitheatre can get chilly here by the end of the month - an outdoor gig would be great. Long overdue

I was booking my vacation days last week and discovered that I had 1 day left to pick. All of a sudden,
Something or Somone told me I should think about taking September 18th off :)

After a few too many amphitheater shows in Camden during the Summer, I'd give anything for a chilly PJ show! Who wants to worry about sweating and stinking while rocking out? I'd rather be in a jacket and comfortable!

That's great news! I posted a week or two ago that my brother has a contact at Live Nation who said the same thing - specifically that Pearl Jam is in talks to book a show at the Ampitheatre this summer.

    This is great news :)

You are in Boston, so I would imagine that there will be at least 5 or 6 shows closer to you than Toronto ... that said, Toronto is an AMAZING city so you should join us for the show :)

I love Toronto, and my friend & I were already thinking about a road trip there this summer for a show (she has family there), so this would be perfect. But for sure I'll see them in Boston/nearby, too.

If any of this actually happens, that is!

There is no way I would miss an Ottawa show after 2005. Then again, there is also no way any future Ottawa show could ever match the show from 9/16/05. A night to remember for sure.

Wasn't the date of the Aerosmith show in Ottawa 11/16/05, not 9/16/05???

(Yes, I looked that up. Pretty darn close though, eh?)

considering the Amphitheatre here in Toronto is located right next to the lake, it can get uncomfortably chilly at times. here's hoping for warm weather with a nice breeze on the day of the show,...

the Amphitheatre sucks...getting there is somewhat a pain in the ass on the TTC and the sound isn't as good as the ACC (especially if you're in the 400's or lawn) and the 11pm curfew is also a major drawback (and the reason for the abrupt ending of the 2003 show)....

Agree on all accounts. Getting OUT of the parking lot after the show is a nightmare too. As I said in another thread, in 2003 the Toronto show ended at 11:00 pm and the Buffalo show ended at 12:00. I got home faster after the Buffalo show and had an extra hour to drive home.

    The Ampitheatre sucks. Big time.

All good points. Certainly a nightmare venue logistically...we all need to head to a show at the Santa Barbara Bowl instead!

Anyone know whether this would be the end of a summer tour, or the start of a fall tour? It'd be too good to be true if it was the end of the summer tour and I could just stop touring there at my own hometown.

The curfew and horrible TTC access are all valid points. But I think I'll always have a soft spot for the amphitheatre due to all the great shows I've seen there over the years.
Still, you'd have to be nuts to park in that lot, if not for the hour-long wait to get out of there than for the $25 fee. But there are also plenty of places to park around there if you know where to look...
