FAKE SIGNED GUITAR

  • I should say also, that it's not always a FAKE item...like with the SRV guitar...at some point, some douchebag offers Stevie Ray $10,000 to sign a bucket of pickguards before he died...then, said douchbag puts said pickguards on a guitar that SRV has never seen, smelled, touched, etcetera...and with the PJ stuff in Vegas (especially) I could fully imagine some manager type walking into the dressing room and saying hey guys, come sign this here guitar for so-and-so and the guys quickly scribble their names...this HAS to be part of the gig...there is an element in EVERYONE'S job, no matter how 'in control' or how 'cool' they are where they HAVE to do something...you think the managers, producers and label guys arent 20 times richer that our beloved PJ? I just wish it wasn't so...and Vegas is a great market for this, as the shop owners are simply hoping that one of us hits a jackpot and loses our fucking minds and buys a $40 acoustic that spent eighteen seconds of its life backstage at Mandalay Bay..

So, as many of you might have seen last week I found out I had a very fake signed guitar. It was bought for me as a gift and not being an autograph collector I had no clue. I want to thank 100 Pacer, pdalowsy, and Wilds for pointing out that it was a complete fake! (This was later confirmed by two sources at 10C) If you guys hadn't have seen it and said something I would still be sitting on a very expensive piece of junk signed by some meth head tweakin in a basement. The guitar wasn't even good enough to play.
After several very heated arguments with the owner of STARMARKS.NET my money was finally refunded in full. Once I told him I was going to call everyone and their brother until I got my money back, he caved. He said my bullshit wasn't worth the trouble. Hmmmmm I wonder why that is??? He still insists all of his shit is completely legit.
Whatever you do, don't ever buy anything from STARMARKS.NET.

    Thanks Again!

Well I am glad u got it figured out liek I said earlier to u I have been doing this for a long time and it is obvious that he knew it was fake other wise he wouldnt of gave in so easy the said part about it is that he will take that guiter wait a month or so and then resale it. I have a guitar I am working on now it has 3 members on it. If u ever need any advice on something like that I am not a total expert but I do have alot of knowledge. By they way do u have any thing signed by the band at all.

THEY PUT THE EXACT GUITAR UP FOR SALE THE DAY AFTER THEY GOT IT BACK!!!! I THINK IT'S ON THERE AS I TYPE RIGHT NOW. IT WASN'T EVEN 24 HOURS AFTER THEY GOT IT BACK THAT IT WAS UP FOR SALE AGAIN. FUNNY THING IS (HIND SIGHT IS 20/20) IT IS IN BETTER SHAPE THEN WHEN THEY SENT IT TO ME. THE FRETS WERE RUSTY AND I FUCKING POLISHED THEM TO GOOD AS NEW. I FIGURED AH WELL IT CAME FROM FLORIDA WHERE IT IS HUMID. WE ARE ROLLING AROUND ON THE FLOOR LAUGHING AT HOW DUMB WE ARE. LOOK HOW BAD WE WANTED IT TO BE TRUE. LOOK AT THE COA!!!!! THAT LITTLE 4 1/2 YEAR OLD GIRL ON THE PC COMMERICAL COULD OF MADE IT. (SHE PROBABLY SIGNED IT TOO)

Really, congratulations on getting your refund. I'm sorry that you had to bear the brunt of that guy's displeasure with being called out but the bottom line is that you won. It's a lesson for everyone. Stand up for what you know is right in the face of adversity. Cheers.
