What happened?
What is this mess?
How come the ten club haven't come up with an explanation or at least an excuse?
How come we can still buy the SDE from the tenclub for 40$ more than on Amazon plus this abnormal shipping taxes for International shipping plus an additional UPS charge of i don't know how much?
OH YEAH its a privilege to buy for TenClub, man i'm so in love with Pearl Jam i'm gonna give them my money for free!
THIS IS THE FIRST OFFICIAL FUCKIN TENCLUB MESS UP!

I don't see how it is a fuck up :?
You are free to buy whatever from wherever. If you don't like the Ten Club price, buy it from Amazon.

    ....so don't buy it.

Problem solved. I personally don't even see a need for discussion on this one.

i understand you are frustrated, but you have a choice. if you don't like what the 10C is doing, take your business somewhere else. also, why start yet another thread complaining about the price, etc., etc.,?

Oh yeah selling something for a price far above it's real value is not a fuck up?
Adding abnormally expensive shipping charges is not a fuck up?
The UPS taxes drama is not a fuck up?
    Give me a break!
This whole "you can buy elsewhere" or "if u don't like it don't buy it" typical answers is just plain stupid, man i love this band but i'm not blind, you can't defend them on this!!!!

If you're complaining about the variety of "retail" prices, I hear ya... but I knew that Best Buy or elsewhere would be a bit cheaper.

If you're complaining about the $50 additional for shipping that doesn't include fees and duties that they didn't warn you about... then I agree and you should ask for a refund. Someone from Greece posted in the above UPS sticky that SLC would offer a refund to him because of this.

TC really should have made it clear that "you can buy this locally for much, much less if you are in Europe".

    I feel for the Europeans.

Just to be clear, you think they did this all on purpose to fuck over the fan club members, that IS what you are implying correct?

Seriously??? What do you think it costs Gap to make a shirt? And what do they sell it you at? It's how the world works.
If you don't like the price of something, shop around. I do. To me it was worth it to buy the SDE from Ten Club to get it early and because I am obsessive about stuff and wanted to order early, yeah I have issues.

I just dont understand what happened, i understand at least the UPS shit, i mean i think Pearl Jam might be pissed by that.
There's no way i would understand the 40$ difference between Amazon and Tenclub, nothing can justify this, the SDE has been obviously printed by the same factory either sold on tenclub or elsewhere. Advance orders are always the same price or do include something you won't have through regular store... and there's no way i would imply the band made us pay 40$ for an autograph lottery
Shipping charges well, they are above anything i've ever bought online, even the amazing and fuckin heavy Ames Book! And the item are not even well protected (check the ups forum)
With all this BS, i don't understand why they still sell the SDE on the Tenclub before clarifying all this!
  • youngsteryoungster Boston Posts: 6,576
Correct me if I'm wrong, but BB and other commercial retailers can sell this stuff for less because of all the other items they sell that makes a profit. Obviously the SDE didn't cost $140 to produce. I'm willing to bet it cost less than 1/2 that. So even BB is making a profit selling it at $125.

I will agree the extra UPS charge was fucked up.
But I don't see how you can complain about what they charge otherwise. Really they can charge whatever they want. It's up to us to decide to buy it from here or get it cheaper elsewhere.

Did Santos break into your house and hold you at gunpoint until you ordered from 10C? I'm guessing not. Take your lumps, get over it, and order the next package locally.

Actually, Ten Club LLC is a corporation. Corporations exist to make profits.

I think the VAT and fees were excessive. I think TC should have made it clear on their website that you would be charged $220 for what you can buy locally for $99. Personally I think TC decided not to mention it's availability locally so they could get the money with no middlemen. I think TC should offer refunds since they did not disclose all the VAT and fees info, and for at least one person in Greece they are making a refund for exactly that reason.

However, PJ is Ten Club, and Ten Club is a corporation out to make money.

You seem to be having a hard day...I'm sorry. :(

It's a shame that you're so pissed at 10c. The fact is they produce the product and get to decide how much to sell it for. The big box stores buy large quantities which reduces their retail, right? I don't claim to understand the business, but that's just what I assume. In Canada SDE cost $200-$220 last time I checked. So I didn't do to bad buying from 10c.
