Fact is, everything under the "mainstream" tent is not telling us the facts, and people are choosing networks to listen to which are in line to, and validate, their viewpoints.

The whole mainstream news in America is an absolute joke, and anyone who believes what they hear coming from an industry that's become a circus, reporting entertainment news as big news, etc., should really stop and question what's fact and what's fiction. FoxNews is NOT fair and balanced, (far from it) and the others have their biased agendas. If you want news, look at international news which has no reason to be bias toward American news. And then weigh it all and come to your own conclusions using critical thinking and questioning as to what's really going on in the world, and question what's just being told to us to have us simply believe what we're being told.

Journalism has changed A LOT in the past 30 years, and journalists don't dig for the truth anymore. They do as they're told by their corporate employers...or they're out of a job. You have to search for independent journalism for real news.

you say fox is not fair and balenced but no one will or can point to an example. whenever ther is a debate on fox they ALWAYS HAVE A DEM AND AREPUBLICAN so you the viewer can hear both sides and then make up you're own mind. If that's not fair and balenced then what is.

You obviously didn't read my post. Actually, you're a perfect example of the American mainstream media viewer. You watch the channel that's most aligned to your views and that news station validates your perspective.
If you read my post, I said that all news media and biased, but the only thing you read was the FoxNews part. Just for once, think this way, and I'm being objective here. Next time you watch any news, question it. Ask yourself if what they're reporting is really true, look at other sources, look to international and independent news. Favoring one news source is only showing brand loyalty and that you believe most of what that one brand reports. No one brand reports the truth. Open your mind to the possibility that the truth isn't confined to your news media of choice. Because it isn't.

Not at all true I read your post .I actually read it more than once as I do ALL post. I have and do watch other Networks. and I always go back to Fox for several reasons. 1. they are not in the tank for Obama and they weren't in the tank for bush when he was in office. 2. They report news that you would never hear on the other networks. 3. they dont traffic in hate and personal attacks as do the other networks mostly MSNBC.

Example: Janine Garafalo on MSNBC calling all the tea party demonstrators a bunch of RACIST RED NECKS WHO ARE MAD COS WE HAVE A BLACK MAN IN OFFICE.:

Why do you think their ratings are through the roof right now. It;s because millions of people feel the same way I do. And Im sure there are just as many that feel the opposite, but like I said before" this is one of those subjects we will all have to agree to disagree on. :)

It's because most of the country's intelligent people are what we like to call "literate." It means you can read, so we read news online, in newspapers, magazines, etc. Plus we have options for real news... msnbc, cnn, abc, and other real news shows. The great, ignorant masses prefer the "gee-whiz" production of fox news, which reassures them that all their prejudices are correct and that evil liberals are destroying this country. They are also by and large not bright enough to manage to read news, so fox's easy dose flashing lights and alarms are so much easier... kinda like how kids respond to colorful cartoons. Thus, they congregate around the one channel that tells them exactly what they want to hear in the limited way they can understand it. Whereas real news stations don't have blindly loyal viewers because they are constantly being pitted against each other.

It's akin to getting your sports analysis only from the one local Pittsburgh anchor who will tell you the Pirates are going to the World Series this year. Just because more people in Pittsburgh watch him and like hearing that doesn't make the guy right.

So because they had a guest saying ridiculous things, the whole station is wrong? Garafalo isn't an anchor is she? Compare that to Hannity.

Why do you feel the need to defend FoxNews? You must feel attacked to feel the need to defend like you are. You are giving one news media WAY too much credit. Open your eyes and stop being so brand loyal and start looking at all news sources more objectively.

Bill Maher has people from both sides on his show too, but I still feel it's slanted left for sure! O'Reilly, Hannity, etc... all have a conservative slant. Not that there's a problem with it, but if you say there's no slant, you're kidding yourself.

I don't. I don't watch msnbc either. Can you wrap your head around that? That this country isn't divided evenly into 2 black-white sides of politics where everyone on the other side of the divide is the same?

As for you, I'd say if you've got so many issues with msnbc, don't watch it. But also don't come here telling me msnbc is awful and partisan and fox is agenda-free and completely neutral. Show some self-awareness and intellectual honesty eh?

What about it? msnbc has their bias. So what? It's ok for foxnews to do it, but msnbc can't?

No wonder you mention the Tea Party, their ideology was made for you: "when the guys I agree with do A, it's ok. When the guys I don't like do A (exact same thing), they're disgustingly amoral." Insert taxes, spending, news anchor inflammatory statements, etc.

I was just making a point. Yeah I agree Hannity has an agenda, but I just dont see the hate fullness from the right on FOX as I do from the left MSNBC LIKE Mathews and olbermann. Really the only guy I even care to watch is O'Reilly and the 6:00 guy who took Brit Hume's place. I don't care for Hannity all that much cos Im not a Republican.

There are tons of specific reasons to bash fox news. They are so desperate to make a partisan point that they cherry pick information and, when that isn't enough, they flat-out lie. Just because they tell you they're "fair and balanced" doesn't mean they actually are. Wake the hell up. They exist to parrot the GOP talking points of the day.

Why do they trump every other cable network when it comes to ratings? Well, why was "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" an enormous blockbuster hit? Unfortunately, there are a lot of ignorant people.

you say that fox news lies but yet you cant give one example can you? all you can do is bitch and moan wah wah wah

becos the people that realize what a joke foxnews is see it in msnbc as well so they don't watch either. meanwhile, inbred morons rant about evil msnbc while remaining totally oblivious to same stunts being pulled on them by fox. you know, the way you're here to try and make fox seem fine by diverting attention away from their bullshit to msnbc.

i'm pretty sure i've told you this before but maybe it was someone else....

-a few times when a republican was stepping down because of some scandal Fox Op/Ed would put a (D) next to their names instead of an (R). maybe once is a mistake but when it happens more than once it seems like a pretty clear distortion

-during the '04 campaign people said Kerry said he should be president "because more foreign leaders like him" the audio of the actual quote eventually came out and showed Kerry did NOT say that, which didn't stop Fox & Friends from repeating the claim all the way until the election. to quote reagan "facts are stupid things", i guess....

-during the '08 primaries Clinton made some comment, forgot what it was, and Fox blew it way out proportion....Fox & Friends asked viewers to email them or call them to tell them if we agreed with them on this....i called twice and emailed once telling them i felt they were taking what she said out of context (even though i was/am far from a hillary supporter) and i didn't feel she meant what they were implying....both times i called i was told shortly thanks for my call and they hung up....an hour or so later they announced the results of the phone calls and emails and claimed not a single person disagreed with them, which is odd considering i disagreed with them 3 times

also, everyone tries to hide behind Fox doesn't have news anchors, they have entertainers giving their opinions....well, then how is it a News network if they only have op/ed commentators?? people in this thread claim Hannity doesn't report news, he gives his opinion....ok, but that doesn't explain why a few years ago when it was Hannity & Colmes the word NEWS would be on the screen as either a graphic or somewhere on their set a dozen or so times at once....so, if it's just an op/ed show what's the need to put the word NEWS all over the screen? isn't that a bit misleading? maybe so people will see NEWS everywhere and think of it as such?
    don't compete; coexist

As an American you can't watch or read anything from the mainstream media to get news. I get my American news from other countries.

You learn more about your own country by watching news coming from an international source.

i completely agree with both of you here. what a shame it is that we have to seek the truth from international sources instead of those here at home.
