Ten Club should sell meet/greet tickets for next tour...

I noticed that other bands/singers sell meet/greet tickets where you can meet them before a concert if you pay an extra $250 to $300.

I know I would pay $250 to $300 extra to meet Pearl Jam backstage before a concert. It would be awesome to be able to get my picture taken with the band and get an autograph. The Ten Club could sell a limited number of these tickets per show. Maybe have a small group of fans meet the band at the same time?

What do you think??

I doubt that this will ever happen. And I don't like the thought of paying extra cash just for meeting someone, even though it are the PJ guys. I mean to pay for a fantastic rock concert is one thing, but to spend a lot of money just for shaking someone's hand and talking two or three sentences to him ... I don't know, this should be for free! :)

I honestly think there are to many Crazed PJ fans to ever make this possible...which is sad and scary. NIN did this back in '05 and it was very cool. Got to meet TR and the band and also sit in on a few sounchecks...it was like your own little fan club show.

If people could just keep their shit together and not freak out everytime Ed walks by then this may have been possible...but I just don't EVER see that happening.

the bassist for Mudvayne is giving one bass lesson to one fan at each city on their current tour- it costs something like $400-$500 (can't remember exactly) and a portion goes to charity.

And Seether is selling meet and greet t-shirts for like $50- I believe 20 for each city on their current tour.

A couple of years ago on the Sevendust tour, if you bought their new album when you bought your tickets on TM, you got a free meet and greet pass after the show- which was pretty sweet

  • Didnt mike meet some competition winners on the last tour? for a coffee morning or something i think.
Metallica are doing this meet and greet stuff on the current tour, not charging i think just fan club members and comp winners.
I would pay a small fee to meet the pj guys if it went to charity, but otherwise nah.

I agree. I wouldn't mind if PJ charged more for a meet/greet but not to line their pockets, only if it went to a reputable charity.

I would love the idea if 100% of the extra money goes to a charity.

I think backstage passes would be cool for members of the Ten Club but those passes should be free. Joe Satriani does this on his site. Members put their name on a list to whichever concert they are going to and names are pulled out at random to win these passes. It's fair and would be a very cool thing to do in my mind.

I don't like the idea of paying extra to meet the band at all, even if it went to charity, what are we stupid fans who would pay anything to meet them? Eh.
I am however all for a competition to win a meet and greet that entailed something really creative in order to win.

Doesn't seem right to me, I would hope it would never happen. Commodifying the actual people in your favourite band?
  • I would be surprised to see them charge for that kind of thing...I think when NIN did it, it was free, and only a random selection of fan club members were selected to go in early and meet the band, etc. and there may have been a no pictures/autographs rule (could be wrong there though).

I would love to meet the band, but I'd kind of like for it just to happen somehow, not for me to shell out $250...I like to think I wouldn't pay...but maybe I would hahahaha...

I think all of us would. There would be the normal complaints and people saying the don't like the band and can't believe what the world has come too. But I bet there isn't one person in hear who wouldn't pay $250 for a seat to a show with the opportunity to sit in on sound check. Even if it was going to the band.

You may be right, but I'd be really disappointed in the band for putting a price on themselves in order to get a chance to talk personally to them. Chance meeting them would be priceless; paying a pretty penny for that chance wouldn't be the same for me. I'd look at the band in a different light.

Payin money for a meet and greet is THE biggest waste of money. It takes everything special about meeting your idol and puts it in a nice shiny package. When I shook Zakk Wylde's hand it wasn't even that big of a deal, but if I dished out a couple hundred bucks, it woulda been lame.
  • Metallica does it for free.
If you're a club member you put your name down and they give random passes to almost every show.
They are quite bigger than PJ, so I guess PJ could also do something like that.

I would too since it would be a once in a lifetime opportunity! :)

If they do this for free that would be even better. I like what someone said about Metallica picking random fan club members to go backstage and meet the band before the show...Ten Club could do this by lottery.

I doubt this would ever happen but it would be awesome!

Yeah I did that with NIN in '05 too. Was such a cool day, meeting the band and the sound check. No charge either - just people picked from the fan club (which I don't think was too many at the time as it had just started).

I like the idea of either 100% to charity or invites included in random 10c tickets on the day. Would be a nice touch, but either way another tour would be nice regardless!!

you can stand outside the exit door and try to meet them. I met Eddie that way (at a solo show)
A child's rhyme stuck in my head...
It said "Life is nothing but a dream."
I've spent so many years in question
