First of all let me first start by saying that I hate TO. Fuck that guy!
Who could he possible play for now?
You know he'll need a quality QB and you know he won't go to some scrub team.
Philly- Out
Dallas- Out
Giants- Don't see that ever happening. He'd probably make Eli cry.
Colts- Would make sense to me. Peyton appears to be losing his big threat in Harrison. Hmmm...
Arizona- Would also make sense. If they bring Warner back (not so sure) he'd be able to get the ball to him for many touches, and he still has a good/accurate arm. If they opt for Leinart, then that could be trouble.
Seattle- Seahawks have been flat the last couple years and Hasselback has no big or real threat to throw to. I don't see it happening though.
Green Bay or Minnesota- Could use a big, deep threat not sure if I see it happening though as I don't think TO would want to play for Rodgers or Jackson.
TO has burned so many bridges in the past, it's going to be tough.
Mike Golic on Mike & Mike brought up New Orleans today... that seemed to make sense, a team that throws the ball all over the field.
Actually that's true, never even thought of New Orleans.
TO dropped all the passes in 2007 because he had a broken finger courtesy Sean Taylor in Week 2...the members of the media conveniently forgot to mention that. Plus he did also make ridiculous catches as well. I didn't say he was perfect, or that he was the greatest teammate, but what were we as a team before him? What did he add? As a Cowboy he scored a shit ton of TDs and helped Witten look better than his lame ass is. I hope I am wrong, and we'll see next year. I won't quit on being a fan, and it may make us better, but it was a whole lot more fun when he was around.
haha...I loved having him on my team. I'm sorry but we didn't have a game breaker at WR since Alvin Harper, and he was only good b/c he only had to run two routes slant and straight, Irvin took care of all the dirty work. It's funny to watch all those Cowboys fans jump off of TO as he leaves, and, as I said before I hope I'm wrong, but he was the best thing to happen to this team in years. Too bad the media loves their Jason Wittens of the world ...pass catching TEs are a dime a dozen in the NFL, ask Jeremy Shockey.

i get it that you are a fan of his. i just dont see how you think he was the best thing to happen to them in years? what did he do for them other than rip apart the locker room? (how am i defending the cowboys here? is the earth about to explode or something?) they extended their playoff winless streak from 9 years to 12 years with him on the roster. i dont think he did anything good for them. however, if you think excessive espn coverage is a good thing, well then, there's that. the way i see it, nothing good has happened to this team in well over a decade. and i like it like that!
you are all quick to point out that we didn't win any playoff games with TO, but two losses by less than 2 points how is that solely his fault...he didn't leave a ball in the end zone like T-Glenn and he didn't throw behind himself with a chance to dagger the G-men? most of the time you all are blaming Romo for this, now it's TOs fault? I guess I just don't see celebrating the 2nd best WR of this generation leaving the Cowboys in favor of the 3rd-10th best QB and an above average TE. What is the Return on Disinvestment? It's not like Ed Werder is going to stop being a dickhead reporter right?
What is the Return on Disinvestment? It's not like Ed Werder is going to stop being a dickhead reporter right?
team chemistry thats what the return is. would you rather have that or be in the news for all the wrong reasons. this is the same guy that left a suicide note. i've always hated TO ever since he came in this league. hes a locker room cancer and always somehow get the deffense to side with him.for once jerry jones did something right for the team. we were a 9-7 team with him and 9-7 team without him. so did really bring anything other then his 3 ring circus to big d
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight

the man has not been on a team that won a playoff game since 2002 (he was injured during the birds playoff push in 04. we didnt even need him)
2002! that's going on 7 years now. he's a cancer. he has destroyed every team he has ever been on. mememememme and i. that's all that scumbag cares about.

Geez we won in '93 when Emmitt Smith sat out 2 games to make more money, Charles Haley put his helmet through a wall, and Michael Irvin blowing coke all over the place and you are gonna talk about team chemistry...that's a type of chemistry but not team. How soon we forget. As for TO the 2002 win was kind of his and Jeff Garcia's fault no? The 2004 run ended with him running roughshod over the Pats, and Philly's on again of again b/f McNabb puking in the huddle like it's Any Given Sunday, '06 he didn't play well 2 catches 24 yards in the rain against Seattle, and '07 4 for 49 and 1 TD plus he was wide open for another when Romo threw it 3 yards behind him...not exactly terrible numbers for someone who definitely helped get the team there but is apparently the reason why they lost. If the Seahawks don't give a greased up football, or Mr. team-player Witten doesn't get called for forward progress costing us a timeout against the Giants in that final drive we probably aren't even having this conversation. That's the funny thing about all of this. TO is a dick, but I think he helped a lot more than he hurt...I will say it again I hope I'm wrong, but how many Super Bowls has Philly been to since TO? How many playoff wins for San Fran since TO?

how many have we won with TO ummm ZERO to both. also you keep bringing up plays and blaming them on anyone but TO, get over it, hes gone and the team still will be 9-7 and wont win a super bowl

that was my point blaming one player for losing is silly, you could point out a hundred things in each of those losses that cost us. Should we also get rid of Romo, Witten, Ware, Ratliff, Newman, Barber and so on b/c they keep their mouth shut and follow the rules, b/c last I checked we are 0-2 with them in the playoffs as well. Getting rid of an integral part of who got us to those points isn't a good idea. We hit an unfortunate injury bug last year (especially the Arizona game where we lost Felix, Romo, and our Punter) and I would contend that had a lot more to do with us sucking than Terell Owens, but go ahead get rid of our best talent...let's see where it takes us.

since he was cut for behaving like an immature baby, we have won 3 in the last 3 years.
TO has won zero playoff games in the last 7 years.
wait so asking to get paid what he is worth is being an immature baby? if you were the 2nd best at what you did in a given profession, and because you kept yourself in shape were nearly able to carry your team to a Super Bowl on a broken leg while your fat ass qb puked all over the place in the 'hurry-up but not-too-fast offense' wouldn't you want to get rewarded for it? so the eagles have won 3 games without him on the team, is it possible that they would have won those games with him? is it possible that if a few things went another way that the Cowboys would have won the 2 playoff games that they lost? is it more possible that if you take away a guy who scored the most receiving TDs in the NFL over the last three years that the Cowboys wouldn't even have made it to the playoffs? This thread reminds me exactly of the G-Men thread after Plax shot himself. "Oh he was an ass"..."what a thug"..."we don't need him we're good enough without him"...look where it got them.
put it this way as an Eagles fan are your more worried about covering us with a receiving corps of Owens, R. Williams, Crayton, Bennett, and Witten, or would you rather face that team with R. Williams, Crayton, Hurd, Bennett, and Witten. In one scenario you have to 2x team one receiver on almost every play, in the other you don't. i understand he can be a pain, but that's a pain i can live with just the same as Irvin, Sanders, Haley, and others.
P.S. remember all the Giants fans who said they wouldn't miss that cancer Plaxico Burress?
The Steelers haven't missed that cancer Plaxico Burress.
that's because they had a reasonable backup plan, a dirty ass mo-fo named Hines Ward. As wishful as I'd like to be Roy Williams does not equal Hines Ward.

Uh, TO was due to make almost 6 million the season (2.75 base, 1 mil roster bonus and 1.9 in remaining signing bonus) after he did situps and quit on the Eagles and would have been the highest salaried Eagle going into the season after the Super Bowl. (McNabb was only due to be paid 5.5 mil that year.)
So I guess being the highest paid guy on the team wasn't enough for TO?

you guys should have heeded us philly guy's warnings about him 3 years ago though!
I was all for Dallas taking a shot with him though. At that time, we really thought he may be the missing piece. You can't blame a team for taking a chance like that when they are right on the edge. And it was great right up until the loss to the Giants after the 13-3 season. I'll never be sorry for them bringing him here. But I am glad he is gone. Does that make sense? He was nowhere near as bad here as he was in other cities, but at 35 and posting declining numbers, he is not worth it anymore. If he was 30, I would be upset at this.
I also will not blame him completely for the downfall of the Cowboys franchise. He had a huge hand in it for sure, but this team has/had many other problems as well: Jerry Jones, Pacman, Tank Johnson, Greg Ellis and his constant bitching, bad coaching, Roy Williams (the safety), etc.

Flagg, even if I am sad for TO to be gone, this is the most well reasoned argument for not wanting him around. So while I don't necessarily agree that he should be gone, at least I can see why you would come to that conclusion. I just can't understand why people thinking that us subtracting him is instantly going to send us to the playoffs like ESPN just had on. So we're supposed to get better by getting rid of the most prolific WR in the last 3 years? Ha. You are right he is older, he may not be as productive, but to say that we are just going to get better without him is silly.

Not when the dude that puked all over the place is only making .5 mil less. Besides why are we questioning any eagle player, even Chunky fats himself, for asking that cheapskate J. Lurie to be paid what he is worth?
I am really hoping the Redskins sign him, It has to be between them and Okaland. Living in DC, it makes me happy every year watching Snyder deystroy his team. Guy will never learn.
...got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...

I am not sure I entirely by the argument that we just made ourselves better by subtraction either. We'll see how it plays out though. I am hoping Romo will be more relaxed and spread the ball around without having to worry about TO getting his balls.
I do think the Cowboys are going to convert to a run-first team though. I think they realize what they have in Jones, Barber and Choice. I bet we have a whole new look to the offense next year. I bet they include some kind of wildcat formation with Felix Jones, line him up in the slot, as a WR. All kinds of possibilities with that guy.

This makes me happy as well. I have thouroughly enjoyed Snyder as the Redskins owner over the past several years.

Yeah most def...hopefully we'll treat Barber and Jones with kids gloves, and let Choice get beat up for awhile then when everyone else starts to wear down throughout the season start pounding them with Barber and Jones. That's one of those strategies that Bellytits would instill...use your crappy guy and try to win early then put in your better player and dominate later in the year. Romo will be fine, because he did force a ton of throws to TO at weird times (which may have been used to up the percentage of passes thrown to TO b/c the stat says 25 percent of DAL passes went to him although maybe 15 percent were catchable), and don't forget Martellus Bennett is pretty solid as well.
In the end I wouldn't mind if we took a cheap flier on Michael Vick and used him as our Wildcat QB to run/pass (which would be silly to think of b/c he did operate as a pretty stellar starting QB in the NFL) to receivers who would have plenty of time to get open. Vick is different than the other people Jones has already brought in too. He's served his time, right until the end at ATL he was a pretty solid leader and teammate, and if we can get a guy that is as talented as that for cheap in exchange for TO I wouldn't really be as sad. It would definitely add some explosiveness to the offense that only Felix Jones has right now.
Stephen A Smith was just on ESPN for about 10 minutes, yelling at me ... telling me why nothing is TO's fault.
TO's the victim.
when asked where TO will go, Smith stated (paraphrasing), "Somewhere that has a GOOD querterback, someone that can get him the ball." .... nice little swipe at Romo there.
You're right, it's never T.O.'s fault. It will always be Stone's fault.

TO is a cancer, headcase, and a dropper of footballs who's skills are diminishing at an alarming pace.

You're right, it's never T.O.'s fault. It will always be Stone's fault.
as an eagles fan, i'm upset that he isn't going to be destroying the cowboys anymore. i bet they might actually win a playoff game next year. maybe
TO is a cancer, headcase, and a dropper of footballs who's skills are diminishing at an alarming pace.
lol...face it dude, you're boy represents everything that is wrong with professional athletes in this day and age. there's a reason so few teams had any interest in him. good luck in fucking buffalo!
well as an eagles fan, i would love for you guys to take a "flier" on michael vick as well!
lol---is this guy for real?!?!
keep posting dude! i'm loving the comedy of this thread!
