yeah, yeah...they played like crap. the sooner they realize that in order to win they MUST involve Aldrich, the better they'll be.
i wasn't too mad to see them lose to Baylor, though. i went to KU for undergrad & now I'm a Baylor for post-grad.
at least Oklahoma lost as well!!!!
as far as the chant goes....
KU's world famous Rock Chalk Chant evolved from a cheer that a chemistry professor, E.H.S. Bailey, created for the KU science club in 1886. Bailey's version was "Rah, Rah, Jayhawk, KU" repeated three times. The rahs were later replaced by "Rock Chalk," a transposition of chalk rock, the name for the limestone outcropping found on Mount Oread, site of the Lawrence campus.
The cheer became known worldwide. Teddy Roosevelt pronounced it the greatest college chant he'd ever heard. Legend has it that troops used the chant when fighting in the Philippines in 1899, in the Boxer Rebellion in China, and in World War II. At the Olympic games in 1920, the King of Belgium asked for a typical American college yell. The assembled athletes agreed on KU's Rock Chalk and rendered it for His Majesty.I LOVE MUSIC.

excellent description - thanks for putting the time/effort into that post...never knew any of that!!!
and the huskies sucked ass last night - good win for the cuse.I love to turn you on0 -
Sick games last night, but those losses by Pitt, Uconn and OU could also be helpful come next week with the added rest. UNC may fall today since Lawson looks like he is out....got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0

Louisville is in a good spot, but they were a 1 or 2 seed no matter what they did. Nova, WVU, and cuse can all help their causes though. Duke has a good chance to win the ACC tourney now as well....got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0 -

Right now I'm leaning towards Pitt making some noise.
The Syracuse/UConn game was sick last night was hoping for a record tying 7th OT. That loss may have cost UConn thier #1 seed.
Pitt all the way!!!#FHP0 -

Sounds like someone has a different type of March Madness. I'm kinda digging the WBC this time around to be honest.

I'm still worn out as hell from last night. That and Michigan (where I went) lost. Can't wait for the big danceGo Get 'Em Tigers!0

how uconn got a #1 seed i'll never know. 'overall body of work' was the prevalent theme of the committee. louisville will be tough, but as we saw in the conference championships, anyone can be beaten.I love to turn you on0

Yeah, Fukudome is struggling still. I'm so happy the White Sox didn't get him even though they offered him more $.
I'm lovin Illinois to go down in the first round as well. They seem to fall apart without Frazier.
