God I love this time of year!

UConn #1 Men's and Women's Hoops!!!! WooHoo!!!

(we'll see how long that lasts!)

UConn has Pitt this Saturday in Pitt...lots riding on this one...

Conference Tournaments next week, and then NCAA's.

HaiHailVitalogy - we'll be lookin' for your GMason boys!!!

Carolina looks tough, and as much as I hate them, I never count Duke out, Oklahoma is coming on, and GTown is my sleeper for next week.

Get in here and let's have at it!!!
I love to turn you on

My Ducks are toast this year. I think this is the worst season they've had since I was in high school.

Right now I'm leaning towards Pitt making some noise.

With the right matchups- the Sweet 16 could have 12 teams between the ACC and Big East make it. The fact that the Big Ten might have 6 or more teams make the tournament is a joke though. Hopefully some good midmajors show up and make a case for themselves.

don't rule out the defending chapions. yeah, they're young...but they are clicking at just the right time. Collins & Aldrich will need to keep it going. Coach Self has to win Coach of the Year....he lost all of his starters & has led KU to the brink of their 6th conference title in a row.

    Beware the Phog!

The Big 10 shouldnt have any more than 3-4 teams. It is so damn boring to watch and I just dont think that it is a quality basketball product. I'll take the Big East and ACC any day of the week. So much more entertaining to watch with a majority of the best teams in the country.

My alma mater, Oakland University, beat Oregon in Eugene this season. That's back-to-back wins against the Ducks. Not bad for a tiny little school...
OU also had it's first 20-win season since going to DI. Unfortunately, they will have to win their conference tournament to go to the dance, and even then, they would more than likely be a No. 16 seed... Oh the joys of rooting for a tiny school...

sorry hels...we're talking college basketball in here. across the usa, there are many college basketball tournaments going on this week. and then next week, a large 65 team nationwide college basketball tournament begins...it's called 'March Madness' because many of the games are quite competitive, and many teams across the country are trying to get into the big 65 team tournment. there are a lot of games on television...many that go on at the same time, and not a lot of work gets done here in the US once the games begin. finally, there are many people who like to wager on who wins the big tournament, and they try and pick the winners of all the teams/games before any of the games are played. this in america is known as 'filling out the brackets'. all of this can be quite maddening (in a fun way)...hence the term 'march madness

the Pitt/UCONN game this weekend might have been the best game I have seen all year.
The Big East tournament is crazy, the winner almost deserves a bye into the 2nd round of the NCAA tourney. And watching Big Ten basketball should be considered a form of torture these days.

yeah, yeah...they played like crap. the sooner they realize that in order to win they MUST involve Aldrich, the better they'll be.

i wasn't too mad to see them lose to Baylor, though. i went to KU for undergrad & now I'm a Baylor for post-grad.

at least Oklahoma lost as well!!!!

as far as the chant goes....

KU's world famous Rock Chalk Chant evolved from a cheer that a chemistry professor, E.H.S. Bailey, created for the KU science club in 1886. Bailey's version was "Rah, Rah, Jayhawk, KU" repeated three times. The rahs were later replaced by "Rock Chalk," a transposition of chalk rock, the name for the limestone outcropping found on Mount Oread, site of the Lawrence campus.

The cheer became known worldwide. Teddy Roosevelt pronounced it the greatest college chant he'd ever heard. Legend has it that troops used the chant when fighting in the Philippines in 1899, in the Boxer Rebellion in China, and in World War II. At the Olympic games in 1920, the King of Belgium asked for a typical American college yell. The assembled athletes agreed on KU's Rock Chalk and rendered it for His Majesty.

Sick games last night, but those losses by Pitt, Uconn and OU could also be helpful come next week with the added rest. UNC may fall today since Lawson looks like he is out.

Louisville is in a good spot, but they were a 1 or 2 seed no matter what they did. Nova, WVU, and cuse can all help their causes though. Duke has a good chance to win the ACC tourney now as well.

Went to a couple of Oregon games this year and they were miserable  . They've really only ever had a couple of good seasons so I don't find it surprising.

The Syracuse/UConn game was sick last night was hoping for a record tying 7th OT. That loss may have cost UConn thier #1 seed.

    Pitt all the way!!!
