God I love this time of year!
UConn #1 Men's and Women's Hoops!!!! WooHoo!!!
(we'll see how long that lasts!)
UConn has Pitt this Saturday in Pitt...lots riding on this one...
Conference Tournaments next week, and then NCAA's.
HaiHailVitalogy - we'll be lookin' for your GMason boys!!!
Carolina looks tough, and as much as I hate them, I never count Duke out, Oklahoma is coming on, and GTown is my sleeper for next week.
Get in here and let's have at it!!!

WHITSH!!!
(backhand to the head!)
none of this duke crap around here!
a lot will be decided this weekend!!!
My alma mater, Oakland University, beat Oregon in Eugene this season. That's back-to-back wins against the Ducks. Not bad for a tiny little school...
OU also had it's first 20-win season since going to DI. Unfortunately, they will have to win their conference tournament to go to the dance, and even then, they would more than likely be a No. 16 seed... Oh the joys of rooting for a tiny school...
FU*K UNC & that baby ass Hansbrough!
The Ville Baby!
what i wouldn't give to go to 1 day in the garden. some great games ahead.
Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"
Wembley? We all believe!
Copenhagen?? your light made us stars
Chicago 07? And love
What a different life
Had I not found this love with you
sorry hels...we're talking college basketball in here. across the usa, there are many college basketball tournaments going on this week. and then next week, a large 65 team nationwide college basketball tournament begins...it's called 'March Madness' because many of the games are quite competitive, and many teams across the country are trying to get into the big 65 team tournment. there are a lot of games on television...many that go on at the same time, and not a lot of work gets done here in the US once the games begin. finally, there are many people who like to wager on who wins the big tournament, and they try and pick the winners of all the teams/games before any of the games are played. this in america is known as 'filling out the brackets'. all of this can be quite maddening (in a fun way)...hence the term 'march madness
The Big East tournament is crazy, the winner almost deserves a bye into the 2nd round of the NCAA tourney. And watching Big Ten basketball should be considered a form of torture these days.
Go Heels.
They will probably meet again next Sunday in the ACC title game.
GO TARHEELS!

still don't understand that chant. please explain if you have time.
I know there's the PJ goods one on the Porch...but we should really get our trash talk on..
EV: Los Angeles 4.12.2008, Los Angeles 4.13.2008, Nashville 6.17.2009, Nashville 6.18.2009, Memphis 6.20.2009
What the hell does that even mean anyway???
yeah, yeah...they played like crap. the sooner they realize that in order to win they MUST involve Aldrich, the better they'll be.
i wasn't too mad to see them lose to Baylor, though. i went to KU for undergrad & now I'm a Baylor for post-grad.
at least Oklahoma lost as well!!!!
as far as the chant goes....
KU's world famous Rock Chalk Chant evolved from a cheer that a chemistry professor, E.H.S. Bailey, created for the KU science club in 1886. Bailey's version was "Rah, Rah, Jayhawk, KU" repeated three times. The rahs were later replaced by "Rock Chalk," a transposition of chalk rock, the name for the limestone outcropping found on Mount Oread, site of the Lawrence campus.
The cheer became known worldwide. Teddy Roosevelt pronounced it the greatest college chant he'd ever heard. Legend has it that troops used the chant when fighting in the Philippines in 1899, in the Boxer Rebellion in China, and in World War II. At the Olympic games in 1920, the King of Belgium asked for a typical American college yell. The assembled athletes agreed on KU's Rock Chalk and rendered it for His Majesty.

excellent description - thanks for putting the time/effort into that post...never knew any of that!!!
and the huskies sucked ass last night - good win for the cuse.
Louisville/Villanova should be a good one too
Louisville is in a good spot, but they were a 1 or 2 seed no matter what they did. Nova, WVU, and cuse can all help their causes though. Duke has a good chance to win the ACC tourney now as well.
The Syracuse/UConn game was sick last night was hoping for a record tying 7th OT. That loss may have cost UConn thier #1 seed.
Pitt all the way!!!
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
