NO CODE OR YIELD
im sure this has been discussed but im starting to lean towards no code.
personally think they could have been a double disc cause i get the same feel listening to both albums..
really splitting hairs here but thats what this board is for right?

No Contest.

i was glad that at the time the album was poorly received..... considering how many albums Britney sells, it reassured me that Pearl Jam made music for music-lovers, not music-video lovers.... if that makes any sense.
plus..... c'mon.... Present Tense. seriously. sooooo awesome!!!!!!
yeah that's right mofo's...Binaural before Yield!!!
It's so hard for me to rank all of PJ's albums. The first 6 albums are ridiculously good, and No Code-Binaural the genius is so readily apparent.
Riot Act is pretty solid too, but it seemed to lack some energy, and it didn't seem to have the musical depth of the other albums. I know they were going for something immediate, and I like pretty well every tune on their, it took seeing pretty well the whole album live to really start diggin it.
I think S/T was a step in the right direction. There was some new sounds and it had a makeup similar to Ten-Binaural.
Yield takes the cake over No Code. Both great albums though.
I was pondering doing this as a poll recently. They seem to be the albums that most of the diehards forget... it's where the casual fans disappeared and the devoted were convinced to join up for the long haul.
I vote No Code.
I can't think of a better run any band has had than PJ's run from Vs-Binaural. Maybe Rubber Soul-Abbey Road.

I totally agree with your point, soulsinging.... No Code was definitely one where the "casual" fan gave up, which I think makes it great... it really felt like they were putting the songs on there they wanted to, and if people didn't like it, there was always Creed.
Us diehards, on the other hand, recognized that the genius behind their music knew no boundries with this album... we realized that they could rock in the same old fashion, but the mellower songs on No Code made us see a whole new side to PJ...
I think Yield just pips it for me. It's just......I don't know..........It just makes me smile

I love Yield, but No Code is just a step above.
Nocode is a Vedder solo album...could be a vitalogy extension....
No Code is my second favorite though. But Yield is just too special for me, will always be at the top.
P.S. Wishlist is better than Dissident and Bugs or any of the oddities on Vitalogy.
