    Going for the sweep this afternoon against the A's with Bedard on the mound!!

    Awesome that no matter what happens today the Mariners will be starting the home opener with a winning record on Tuesday!!! It would be terrific if we win today and open up at The Safe with a 5-2 record. 8-)

    I am here to proclaim after 7 games that the 2009 M's are a completely different team than the 2008 M's. With a whole new mentality and approach to the game.

    Last year it took us like 3 months to get our first series sweep against a hapless team - Look at us now! 8-)

    Yeah, but Carlos Silva sucks. Even with his arm injury last year, Erik Bedard still managed an era under four.

    You guys got a hell of ball player in endy chavez. I miss him dearly. Least he went to my fave AL team. Its so cool to see griffey jr back in a m's jersey. He was my idol growing up. bullpen looks like its gonna be a good one

    YEah, Chavez is hitting the ball real well. We need to keep him in the line up when Ichiro returns.

    A couple fact....

    We have now matched our best start in team history at 7-2, with the 2001 Mariners.

    If we sweep the Angels tonight, we will have secured the best start in team history at 8-2 (the 2001 M's went 7-3).

    I know it is early, but i swear this is the same feeling I got 8 years ago. :mrgreen:

    Okay, so we dropped our first series of 2009. Yeah it sucks but oh well, it is a loooong season and overall we're still doing fine.

    Let's stick it to the Rays starting tonight!!!

    After last years debacle of a season, this feels pretty good! Damn, we're 12-6!! Who woulda thought it? Great series win tonight for sure against the Angels!!!

    Tonight's game is a Rain Out.

    And that is why The Safe is better than every other outdoor baseball stadium without a retractable roof. Man, I hate rain outs.

    So, we have a double header tomorrow in Chi town assuming the weather holds out. :?
