Im already picturing what the chorus "see my firends!" will sound like. I like it :D
You're picturing what it will sound like? :?

For some reason I thought of STBC when I read it... "See this needle, see my friends!"
I'm not sure what you're getting at here, they don't even say the word friend during STBC.
I fully realize that, that's just how I heard it in my head, heh. ;)

I like that Ed is thinking about playing these songs live.
  • I would say if the new album is released in the fall, they will probably do a few shows on the west coast late this year, and then do a full world tour in 2010. Hopefully, the economy will be improved by then, because I want to go to at least 15 shows :)

If it's released in the Fall, it means there's still a good chance for a farewell show at the Spectrum! Woohoo! :)

I was thinking the same! Man, I hope so.

Could this be pearl jam's "Zooropa"? Boom switching over to the Moog Synthesizer?

This is the new issue with Sean Penn on the cover... Nothing about Ed's contribution to Into The Wild in the print interview, but there are a few blurbs about that and the project Penn wanted Ed to act in years ago online here: http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/ ... _interview

Also another online blurb about the new album and a link to Cameron Crowe's awesome '93 piece on Pearl Jam: http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/i ... 009-album/

That's what alarms me actually. I love Why Go, Once, Animal, Go, Last Exit, etc. But I am so bored with Save You, Ghost, Comatose, Big Wave, Gods' Dice. They don't do those songs like they used to... hopefully they'll end up on the stronger end though! I'm a bit disappointed to get the impression they want to shelve more epic songs like Inside Job... that's when they're at their best.

However, I LOVE the comment about them viewing the songs from the perspective of "will we still want to play this live in 5 years?" That's the litmus test I want to see. I feel like 3/4 of the songs from the last 3 albums are forgotten live and rightly so. Nobody's going to do a campaign for those tunes like they did for Leash. But imagine an album full of songs we'll still be dying to hear in 3-4 tours!

And just so nobody thinks I'm hating on all the band's recent material... Worldwide Suicide is their best song since Yield and kicks ass with the best of the band's work.
