I wanna know the real number. C'mon Sea/Kat tell us we want to know, I have no idea myself so spill the beans Sea or Kat. It shouldn't be like some big secret now should it?
  • WildsWilds Posts: 4,329
Sadly it is a BIG secret? Why? Well that is a secret too.

I would also love to know. In fact I would love to know what number I am on the list.

    Just curious. That is all.
  • I think it depends on how many people renew each year, but I do know that they either have 69 or 420 people in the club each month.

it's a "secret" cause the 10C does not really know!!!

so say there are 50,000 members and they all renew.
That is like a million dollars right??!!!

It'd be too easy to compute the annual gross income from membership sales if they divulge the number of members......it's a private business matter.

Imagine how many conclusions people would jump to if they knew the information.

"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

unfortunately, you're right,...enough people will/would bitch about 10C's revenue stream should a figure be released; however, let's say 150,000-200,000 active 10C members are paying $20/$25 per year, a *rough* number can be calculated for those who are truly curious. again, the 150,000-200,000 active members range is a *rough* number, averaging out those that stop paying dues while at the same time others begin paying dues. the number of active members is quite likely higher.

for those that scoff at 10C's revenue stream keep in mind the following: the amount of bandwidth required to run both 10C's site and the PJ Forums (especially when the sites are bombarded) can't be cheap. 10C employees don't work for free. PJ's warehouse likely costs a pretty penny to run (10C's offices/rehearsal space/storage space). all these things cost a LOT. let's not forget a portion of 10C dues pay for the x-mas single, newsletters, 10C mailings, etc.

one final thing worth mentioning i think,...there's really no accurate way for the 10C to divulge the number of 10C memberships, reasons being:

    - a 10C member number is assigned for EVERY order placed by a non-10C member when ordering goods. should that non-10C member choose to pay for and activate a membership in the future the same member number is assigned, but how could 10C keep track of such things?

    - every year, many members stop paying dues while many more purchase and activate new memberships, so the overall number of active 10C memberships is always in flux. expired membership numbers are retired, and who really knows how many members have lost their ticket privileges over the years for scalping while still maintaing their 10C memberships.
To quote the 10C from Newsletter #8: "Please understand we have a lot of members and it is very hard to please everybody. If you are one of those unhappy people...please call 1-900-IDN-TCAR."

"Me knowing the truth, I can not concur."
