comebackgirl wrote:I heard about that case. I'm glad the mother has been charged. It's infuriating to think an adult would mess with a kid that way.
I know what you mean. Can you imagine what this mother was like in High School, and what values she has transmitted to her kids? It is bad enough when kids do this to each other, but this is just bullying of the worst kind.To pie I will reply

westsidepie wrote:You are correct about things like this hurting people. There is that sad case of a mother leading a neighbor girl to believe she was a boy interested in her. When the girl found out it was a hoax, she committed suicide. The mother is now being brought up on assault charges. As funny as this thread has been, there is a dark side to these problems.
there are TONS of cases of people who say they are one thing and they are not. i was watching another story about a 12 year old girl who was murdered by a 48 year old man she met on the internet... she thought he was a 14 year old boy.
i read another case of a married woman who was having an online affair with a man and things got serious enough that she was going to leave her husband.. so they decide to meet.. he comes to her house.. cept he is actually a she. and they had been having a lesbian love affair i guess.. i know there was more to this story.. i think she ended up dead.
we have become a world of cynics, non believers and what makes me so sad is people have taken away my trust..0 -

I told you about the girl that had the online/phone relationship with a guy for 2 years...only to find out it was a guy in his 40's posing as his nephew. That was right before I met zoso too and I remember thinking it was crazy that someone could ever have a relationship with someone they met online.
The internet can be a great place to meet people and form relationships that are real...but it can also be dangerous. You gotta take the good with the bad, but sometimes it's hard to weed it all out. There's a light when my baby's in my arms0 -
