Hamels is a fuckn gamer!!! This dude needs to get locked up NOW!!!!!

Yeah Amaro is looking really bad right now. Halladay is in a downward spiral, Lee hasn't won a decision yet this year, and Hamels is an early favorite for Cy Young.

    I don't think a pitcher

they would be able to if amaro didn't waste so much money elsewhere (kendrick, papelbon, howard, etc).

hopefully they get some good news on halladay today. gotta love dubee's comments about how this has been bothering him all year. If that's the case then why didn't he get checked out earlier??

I swear the sixers management is now running the phillies. it's the only reasonable explanation for all of the recent stupidity

    god I miss pat gillick

Amaro and Montgomery said a month or so back they could. It was the years they were afraid of.

Don't think they can afford NOT to lock him up. That's a very rare commodity in baseball - a top notch lefty just entering his prime.

From a baseball perspective, I agree. From a financial standpoint, I can't see it without a discount.

Obviously that's not happening at this point.

Don't think I've been there since they got the new chef - my wife didn't want to go when she was pregnant because she couldn't eat 2/3 of the menu, and we haven't gotten back there recently. Everything I've ever had there was awesome, except one time at a tasting they had I thought some chicken was a little bit dry. We usually get the mixed salumi (affetati misti) and some pastas, which are all great.

yeah, they are saying lat strain. pretty much a relief

their biggest problems are still the offense and bullpen, which will only be magnified with hallday being out

I thought they said his shoulder has been hurting him, no?

I can see how the lat is impacted by the shoulder but seems like a strange diagnosis, it is the Phillies though.

Yikes. Just hope he comes back healthy for the stretch drive. Still plenty of good pitching on this team to keep them in the race. Does anyone really think the Nats are going to run away with it?

If I go to an Oswalt game I would boo the shit out of him. He should just start his own construction company.

I'm just glad it's not a major shoulder injury

Again, why the F wasnt this checked out earlier in the season??

 . Best post around here in a while.

And to answer your question, no. One of the few things the phils have going for them is that the NL is complete garbage

Maybe not garbage - at least the NL East, with 5 teams over .500. (albeit they are playing other NL teams) Just that nobody else in the division is really good, just everybody's is decent. And, yeah the rest of the league sucks - won't be hard to get the Wild Card.
